Same thing happened in the U.S. It was a few years back. The guy was from Georgia, and ended up getting 10 years for selling HID lights and growing supplies out of his hydroponics store. I wrote about his saga in my blog: The Mother Of All Conspiracies. So yeah, if you want the title, "Most Insane Drug War Policy," you're going to have to get in line behind the good ol' U.S. of A.

That was operation green merchant, 20+ years ago... I don't think US hydro stores are still being raided, although customers are at risk in certain locations...
