Should I Trim these before flowering?

Hey Folks

This is my 1st grow with Led and was wondering should i Trim these 2 plants before i switch to 12/12,There are 3 120w LeD's in there at the moment and i will be adding a 300w LeD when it arrives(over the 2 pictured).and the 3 120w will be placed over the other plants.Total Grow area is 4ft x 4ft
They have vegged for 2 months from seed and are feminised Trainwreck.
There are other clones taken from these in the same grow area and are 1 month in veg.

Anyhow my ? is Should i cut back the undergrowth or leave to grow wild?

They may stretch 2 foot more, can you lift the light 3 more foot?

I have 2 1/2 ft i can lift the lights higher for stretch on the 2 large plants.

I would pinch out bottom bottom branches that have zero hope straight away, then let the stretch happen for the next 3 weeks until there settled, then again pinch out any sites below the cannopy.

It's not too late to put a screen across the top of them to turn it into a SCROG. LEDs have little penetration, so your best chances of a reasonable yield is to keep the whole canopy even and get rid of anything underneath.

I will trim the scrawney/thin looking undergrowth tomorrow when the lights come back on.

I have some plastic coated chicken wire which im using on my 1st MH/HPS grow which is just startin week 4 flowering(2 plants). I did remove the undergrowth on these but as this is my 1st LeD grow and was undecided whether to clear underneath or not as the 3 other 120w LeD's will be at different heights(cos the plants are shorter) so should be throwing some light under the canopy of the 2 larger ones.
I will add the chicken wire when the new 300w arrives(friday hopefully)this one has UV LeD's added also.
Heres a pic of the wire and my 1st attempt at a screen.Didn't turn out how i wanted but hey it is my 1st grow.

YES

TW streches... pretty good too. You should be anticipating your plants to be about triple in size by the end of flower.

What you have right there will pack your cab with too much plant material and lock out airflow... inviting mold and Powdery Mildew. It will also stress your plants and make them more vulnerable to insects.

Don't be afraid to hack them back. You're learning on this grow, so you should be more willing to get a smaller harvest... then risk wasting a bumper crop to mold.

You don't know the exact harvest time on these yet either so... don't forget to start your flush early as well. Your ladies can stand a good 30 day flush without dying. Better to get a completely flushed product and lose an 1/8th in yield... then to start your flush late and hurt yourself health wise.

Soooo. I will give them a good trimming today then as that is what every is saying is best, should i do it over a couple of days or just go for it?
One thing about these TW is there is no smell at all , i have a Cheesewreck from seed that i am waiting to take clones from to sex , she is 4 weeks old and smells more than the Trainwreck does. Surprising!!

The smell doesn't really tell you anything about the potency. I've grown trainwreck, and it was a good smoke.
IMHO you only need to flush for 24 hours in hydro if that. Any longer and you loose yield. I did an experiment with this a long time ago and a small group of people who have been smoking for over 20 years couldn't tell the difference.

TW streches... pretty good too.

The ones that are in flower pictured ealier stopped stretchin after 3 weeks, this last week they havent grown any taller. will they grow taller again in the later flowering weeks?

El Toker- what i meant was as a 1st time grower i as most 1st time growers would like a really nice smell in the grow tent to get you all excited of whats to follow...or is that just me

Well i Hacked at them ealier and ...well...it looks like a massacre
Its Amazing how bare they look, the pictures dont look too bad but in the flesh ''OMG what have i done'' comes to mind whilst falling over with laughter with how scrawny they look now.
I added a few drops of Superthrive in the Res tank as i read somewhere it helps with recovery.

I didnt install the screen yet, thought it best they recover for a day or so.
