What sockets do I buy?

I want to buy this:

But I don't know what kind of sockets to buy. Need help, need to order them yesterday. Customer service was no help.

They're going to be run on 120v for now but eventually I'm going to switch to 240v if it matters.

Mogul socket. If you're making your own reflector.

If buying the reflector, usually the socket is included. So make sure on that count.

Yeah but they've got more than one type of mogul. They've got 4kv, 5kv, etc. I'm not buying reflectors. I'm running the 250 naked and I have a reflector I bought used that I'm going to put the 600 in. I don't know if the one included with the reflector is the one I need so I figure I'll buy one while I'm ordering everything else. I'm scrimping for cash ATM and I don't want to pay shipping on a 5 dollar mogul. I guess I'll just go ahead and order one of each.

5kv. Your ballast puts through a hell of a jolt when firing the lamp and the higher wattages will need a higher rated socket to stand up to it over time.

I vote with messin'. Sometimes Harbor Freight and el cheapo is fine but, I wouldn't do it here. Get the good stuff.

Go for the higher rated, as suggested.


Just make sure the end plug fits your ballast.
