RR - Haha, nah, still following this thread and others as well as cracking on with plans, I'm just a great believer in if you haven't got anything to say, don't. Plus I've been quite busy with "real" work, though maybe I should have posted a thanks a little swifter, nice one pal! :)

MM - Where those littleuns planted directly in a coldframe outside or what? Want to get my babies going ASAP but ain't willing to risk death by frost! I'm just south of the smoke in Esoteric/Pukka territory.. I haven't got a coldframe or greenhouse I can utilise but I have a fat prop which will suffice for at least 2-3 weeks growth I'd imagine.. Cheers.. :)

Esben - Big up! I've never actively posted on any forums before, but your positive ethic has not gone un-noticed by me min ven! Much respect & all the best. Tak! :)

EZ all,

no cold frame--germed in paper towels put in little pots under eniro lites soon as they break serfice put outside---i let them get a little bigger then straight in ground---the first 2 picks wear just thrown in coverd in peat no prep and cum up when thewarm weather came----some wear put under plastic for a day or 2 just to get use to the direct sunlite as the seeds came up with in a 4 day period--i had plenty of seed though---as this is another seed run got 3 large pots full outside to which ill leave seedless----lost about 20% breakage more than cold---all seeded plants by esben and wam wear germed in side put in pots and put outside---still got seeds breaking surfice hear and there late germers---stay safe

So have i but the missus told me not to boast about it .

If you can`t build a quick frame & cover with clear poly what about some decent cloches ? either with clear poly or even fleece lifted daily in decent weather , all you need is some strong fencing wire bent into hoops , if you visited a local fencing co; & told them your after building some cheap garden cloches you`d be quids in , just wire some thin canes on the top of hoops to hold it all together & jobs done .
Remember we are only a couple of weeks away (hopefully) from any danger of frost , i`m behind with my seeds but not too worried as i`ve been there b4 & still got decent plants come harvest .

freshly cut clones soaking in willow, seaweed and dribble lol

quarter cup of new willow shoots, chopped & then bruised, steeped in a pint of boiling water overnight... i then put the soaked bark bits into the mortar and pestle and ground them up a bit and added more boiling water to get more goodness out...

i added more water to dilute the willow tea further and then i added a nice amount of saliva into the solution after brushing my teeth.

harold , i`m glad to see someone trying Willow Water . You hav`nt quite made it the way i would have done but we will see how you do . I posted about Willow water a little while back stating that it WILL BEAT ANY HORMONE ROOTING POWDER in fact shop bought Hormone Rooting powders contain some of the same ingredients artificially made as Willow Water .
If you just steep the willow cuttings for 24-36hrs & place the liquid in a jar in fridge it thickens up & will keep for a month , always worth putting a glug in a watering can for your clones as it will increase rooting even while they are growing in soil .
Potted 95 chitted seeds today & some of them were 06 stock of my own breeding & zeds , just shows that if the seeds are stored in good conditions they are viable for quite a time , every seed soaked showed a sprout apart from (10) that hav`nt sprouted yet are the Rox F2 but i potted them up & hope they come through .

Stay safe . BGB

ps; mini if you need any pots call me , i have stacks here , every size you can think of .

Find a decent pot or tin can , i cut the top half off a 4pt poly . Cut 12-24- pencil thick pieces 6-8in long to fill container stand them upright in container & just cover with boiling water , you don`t need to bruise them but i run a knife along them just to open the bark . Leave 24-36hr & just drain off the water into a decent jar , i find a coffee jar works fine . The liquid should already be thickening up , store in fridge up to a month .
I may be wrong but spittle may introduce bacteria ?
Just dip clone & plant . SIMPLES .
