potting soil vs potting mix

Went to buy some miracle gro for the plants and saw bags for both. Just wondering what is best for growing marijuana outdoors right in the ground? And what exactly is the difference?
Also any ideas on what I should add to Miacle Gro how long should I let it sit before I put plants out?

i just planted my plants in some tilled earth and watered once a week with 10 litres split between 4 plants at the recommended ratio 1 tbs per 4 L i think

miracle gro is the simplest method but ur harvested buds will taste like miracle gro

i used the bloom recipe for veg and flower btw

i was a complete noob and managed to get 1/2 lb plants

no they won't. i have used it in the past without one problem.

edit: i've also used the miracle grow fertilizer you're talking about without any problems in taste. the thing is.....you need to stop use after you see signs of flowering.

i'm not 100% sure but am fairly confident that..... i think potting mix is lighter and has a good amount of perlite already mixed in. potting soil is heavier and while it has all the nutrients doesn't promote root growth as well as potting mix. i always add more perlite regardless. if you can find pro-mix get some of that. i have used regular miracle grow potting mix without a problem in the past. if you're using pots then you should consider buying some mulch and placing about 3 inches worth on top of the soil to keep the sun from warming the soil too much.

The Mg should be for containers. Potting soil is for containers but i think mix may be as well.

As far as the taste goes, its true that chemical ferts do marginally effect the taste of cannabis but outdoor weed has other factors that impact taste to the point that the influence of chems is truly minimal

An organically inclined friend advised me to water cure all of my dried buds. He took an oz of my best buds, dumped it into a bowl of water and let it soak for 2 hours. The water turned brown and yukky. He took the weed out of the water to let it dry and the "brown" in the water settled to the bottom of the bowl. After pouring off the water, we used his little microscope to look at the brown sludge.

We picked out numerous bug legs, 6 complete tiny caterpillar carcasses that were apparantly inside one of the buds, wings and other interesting objects. He went on to inform me that also in the brown sludge are high levels of sulfur dioxide from pollution settling on the plants, bird shit, bug carcasses, puke and shit, dirt and dust, nitrogen and potassium waste and 22 other wonderful chemicals and choice ingredients. If youre growing OD, your grinding those fine ingredients up and sucking them down. Ummm... Ummmm, theres nothing like that organic taste..

I cant help but chuckle when i hear people talk about their tasty organic outdoor.

Got a hole in the ground?

If you can do it.... get some real soil. It won't cost you much and shipping is usually quick. Check out the soil mixes on here, you'll be glad you did.

A bag of FF Happy Frog and a bag of FF Ocean Warrior (or equiv?) with a small bag of perlite.... would be a great start. Super great dirt and should be less than $40.
MG is cheap crap that doesn't have much quality control to it. Your plants will respond accordingly.

Not saying MG isn't useable (Their organic mixes suck a bit less), just saying that it's not anywhere near optimal. Your extra bucks spent will reward you handsomely and will definitely be worth spending.
