Greetings & Love everyone !

Well, mods my request is for you, but the poll is for anyone to take part of course !

Please, could you create a sub-forum dedicated exclusively to landraces ? I think it is a serious lack in this place here, all discussions about landraces are just lost in different sections instead of being all together, thus making them virtually non-existent and forgotten, unless someone revive the with a post, or do a personnal search on the website.
Landraces are a totally different world than commercial hybrids, simply because they show us and teach us about the world. THey don't grow in a tent or a closet or i don't know what else, they are cultivated in the open, by people whose culture and tradition it is to grow and process this plant for different uses.
Commercial hybrids are created every day & week, but every day & week landrace genetics are lost, it can be because of some invasive plant that eats everything like in Teraï, it can be because of long drought like it happens currently in Yunnan and too often it is through the repressive human hand, ALL AROUND THE WORLD. It's going much faster than we think, and the different climatic changes occuring around the world add a new threat on our cherished plant.
ANd too many people think that commercial hybrids are the thing, that they are superior, too oftenly forgetting that these highly potent commercialstrains come from landraces strains. More awareness is needed about the landraces strain, the plant needs (YES ! THE PLANT ! not me, not you, not us, not them, THE PLANT NEEDS IT !) that all information & data about landraces, be they wild or cultivated, be gathered into one single section, so that more people now about the treasures it holds.
Enough with great threads which lots of people like and give karma for, then get forgotten. Please, create a landrace section so they can be in one single place and knowledge & awareness to get spread !

Irie !

Why bother? Since SB doesn't sell many, the threads will just be deleted. (This time) I'm not complaining, just saying.

thinkin this is a good idea. if more people knew about quality landraces that would be valueable knowledge. And we need a Category in the Cup for LANDRACES
maybe gypsy will start selling landraces once the cries are heard. lol

i dont think that Gypsy would discount a sub forum for the building blocks of EVERYTHING he sells, based on commercial interest, the GNcollection sells some landrace anyways.....:chin:

we have several sub forums here, unrelated to any commercial affiliation with the site as is, a landrace section is for sure needed...they are also somwhat in vogue at the moment anyway, as peeps are getting bored with the usual shit...:)

A landrace section would be great. There are more growers focusing on the old landrace strains as of late and passing on that knowledge would be very helpful indeed.
There are so many potent genetics and world travelers out there, it would be nice to set the bar on landrace.

We're not talking about Iowa ditch weed Rojo. There are plenty of landraces, that have ibl to weed out those traits. Excuse the pun. They just haven't had their genetics polluted with other crosses.

Such a forum which would group information on different landraces would certainly help get the info to the growers, arise some of them's curiosity, and allow them to discover new gems. Of course some landraces are prone to hermaphrodism, but this can be weeded out by selection and breeding, as mentioned above. Besides, many modern/commercial strains are prone to hermaphrodism too. Some people who are looking for "old school weed/flavor/effect" should certainly be looking through different landrace stocks to find what they are searching.
Above all of that, preservation of biodiversity means a lot to me, and a wide gene-pool in the cannabis world can only be a good thing for us growers/users.

I'm for it. I forget which Cannabible has it, maybe 1? but I find that Landrace beginning section very helpful. Nicely mapped out, (with some missing parts of course), and location driven.

It's a shame we don't have landrace subforum yet....and of course...I voted YES!!!

Mriko .. Where would we be without out landrace cultivars . Most of what has been posted here at Icamg in terms of strains originated from landrace cultivars that have been crossed and recrossed. I think it would be a great idea to see where most came form . :tiphat:
