Up In Smoke

When did you first see it?

I had only heard Cheech & Chong on an album a friend of mine had, sometime around 1974. The only thing I remember about the album is one of them was locked in the trunk of a car and needed to pee and the other one was pissing on the back of the car…I think that was the first time I heard the line “my back teeth are floatin”…and something like…

“looks like dog sh!t”
“smell it”
“smells like dog sh!t”
“taste it”…

Back on subject…I saw Up In Smoke the year it came out…79 or 80 at a drive in. Me and two buddys were in my 73 Grand Prix and only had a few bucks and some weed. We stopped and bought a case of cheap beer, probably PBR, and then only had enough money for two of us to get in. So we put the spare tire in the back seat…must have been other stuff in the trunk or something cause it was plenty big enough…and my bud Jason got in the trunk and once we got in he got back in the car and we put the spare back in the trunk. I don’t remember anything else about that night, but apparently I was able to get us all back home safely…lol

So what was your experience like? Anyone remember the album I mentioned?

I think the album had the 'Dave's not here' bit & 'Sister Mother Mary Margret', but then I have a bad case of 'Sometimers' (some times I can't remember shit).

I have sometimers as well, so not sure of the year.
Drive in in Daytona Beach or Orlando with now hubby Mike. I remember the drive in was all concrete and I found that amazing. We had drive ins in fields in Kentucky.

Smoking some of that good ol Columbian Gold, and Reefer Madness played first.

I was fortunate to see Cheech and Chong on thier tour couple years back. It was a great show.

I was toasted on schooms and a great home made pressed hash. I laughed my nuts off.

Only thing was Cong's wife did the warm up act. Man did she suck! HAHAHHA

Some of my homies from the hood ditched school and went and broke into the movies and watched up in smoke and I still watch it today as for me it brings me back to when I was a young vato on the prowl for some chicks.

I was at a chicano's party back in the early 70's when he rolled a little under a 1/2 ounce with the paper from the album and we had more smoke in the house then a chimney stack and back then lids were around and their was no shortages of weed or different rolling papers and santana & zeppelin was blasting the 8 tracks throughout the casa's.

I watched it at the movie theater with my parents when I was 14. It came out in 1978 when I lived in Los Angeles. Good times man, my dad and step-mom were straight-laced drinkers and I was smoking my ass off!!

Saw "Up in Smoke" with my buddy Mike F. (aka Animal) and laughed so hard our ribs hurt when we were done.... God, they are FUNNY!!! Also, in "Next Movie", Chong is diggin' for a roach in a bowl and a live one crawls out (the insect)... he smashes it and sparks it up...coughs his ass off, shakes his head and sparks it again....LMFAO!!!!

They talk about Santa clause carrying around a sack, filled w/toys, Santa using fair dust on his deer, ect. Funny stuff really...i have it on cd. The whole skit can't be any more then 7 min or so.
