I always...ALWAYS plant first week of June...just so I never get any frost warnings happening...One cold night can set back your plants at least one week...
yup, first week of june is what I go with as well. 49 degree-ish in BC. I don't plant my tomatoes in the backyard until the last few days of May and I figure that my dope plants need at least a week after those given the slightly cooler tempuratures up the mountain at a bit higher elevation.
That being said I've had a male plant that I'm keeping around for a seed project in my backyard for the last few weeks, it's seen temps down to -4 degrees (celcius) and is actually looking pretty good, although i it isn't growing really quickly. A few others that I put out at the same time are hanging in there but are not looking good at all..the one male seems to be the most hardy and resiliant so I'm thinking it'll make a good dad for my seeds.
Greetings
Seems i do it a little differently from you folks, i have been direct sowing into pots for the last couple weeks and quite a few have sprouted and are well on their way to producing me a nice early crop. I will be direct sowing many more outdoors over the next couple weeks as i find that my best plants are always those that get an early start in large pots and that need no transplanting.
As for clones or any of those started indoors i will wait till at least the middle of may and be prepared to cover in case of frost which in my part of eastern ontario can come till the beggining of june.

First week of June for me on the BC coast. Last spring was super nice and I thought I could get away with putting hardened off clones out in may, stupid mistake cost me a lot of money frost killed them all... lesson learned.
I am now planting after May 18th, as that is the date of my last exam. If I do well on these exams, my shot at becoming a doctor will become much more realistic.
Wish me luck! And good luck to you guys, and to your future endeavours!
43N in Ontario I normally plant 2 week old seedlings first week of June. Given the great, above-average weather lately I'm pushing for an early start; May long weekend. Good luck to all!
I already have about 20 clones outside already at 44n. They all are very health and doing great. I plant this time every year. I find that if they go through a few light frosts or cold temps at night it only toughens them out and makes them more strong!
