Tical's first hydro grow! 3x3 table, 600wHPS

hey everyone! just got the camera back in action, I figured Id make a new thread / grow log for my first hydro grow! Im runnin a 3x3 flood table under my 600w HPS. I got 9 ladies from clone in there. strain is kind of unknown, but its either jackie-O, or Jacks Cleaner. they have been in the table for alittle over a week now, before that I rooted them up real nice for a week or 2 in a soil less medium in 3 inch square pots before I put them in the hydroton bed. Im using the GH line of nutes, gonna follow the simple recirculating schedule. gotta calibrate my PH meter, so I dont know the PH just yet, but im pretty sure its around 7. Im using 100% RO water. TDS on these guys right now at this stage is reading just about 500 PPM, is this a good point to have them at?? I added a tiny bit of calmag too. pics were just taken 10 min ago. enjoy!!

oh yeah, these ladies are currently being flooded 6 times a day, 5 during lights on, 1 during lights off...floods for 7 minutes each time. they are on an 18/6 veg cycle untill they reach about a foot. I have been topping them.

any other questions or comments PLEASE post them. Im not a newbie to growing, I have grown SUPER high grade pot in soil for the last 7 years, check out my gallery. just getting back into IC and now trying out some hydro on a small scale. I ran into a tiny problem the other day, I noticed some slight leaf burn, I learned my TDS was way too high for the little ladies, so I cut it in half. I may need all the help I can get, but I do work at a hydroponics store, and that helps BIG TIME.

very nice High, I just checked out ur whole thread. I like the single cola style SOG, Ill prolly try that the next run. I just got all my old strains back, well most of them. Im thinkin pacifics G-13 SOG, or KK straw. cough SOG. ...I would do an ECSD SOG, but thats way too smelly for me.

I think Im havin a problem...I noticed that my leaves arent as dark green as they should be, they seem to be losing their green from the inside out. they arent yellow, but they dont look as good as my potted plants. I just want to get off to the right start. should I not be using 100% RO water? any ideas guys? it almost seemed like a nitro, or mag deficiency, but Im not sure at all, could it be over watering? I dont think thats the case. shit guys, i cant pinpoint it!

100% RO is stripped of all elements from what I understand, so if you are using strickly RO with no nutes added you will very quickly start to come across defficiancies.

im using the whole GH line of nutrients for the simple recirculating feed chart. I know RO water by itself is blank water.

heres some updated pics! all ur guys' advise is starting to pay off, and I can see it. thanks again. Im gonna try to keep you all well updated. I gotta go in there after lights out and snap some better pics. they had a rough start, but with u guys backin me up...I hope to have this grow turn out better than my soil grows! it may take a few runs, we'll see. I finally got all my strains back, I got about 9 clone only elites. next run...I think GWS or pacifics G-13 will do quite well on this table, maybe SOG style.

i just started running ebb&flo tables.. i use 5x5x6 kord pots filled with silica stone instead of hydroton.. looking good for your first run bro.. i run my ph at 5.4 and let it drift up to 6 and readjust.. anything over 6 isnt 2 good.. remember this isnt soil..

if thats Jacks Cleaner it will be lemon scent pledge kush smell, if jacko straight up oranges.. you know when you get them flowered out.. both are great smoke..

pick up some dyna gro pro tek or silica blast will help with growth(better wall structure) and improve health overall.. making them more tough.. just a thought since you work at a hydro store..

I gotta pop some and get another mom goin! thanks for checkin in. good advise bro. only thing I dont get, is I added my PH down to my res. yesterday to bring it down to 5.5, and this morning its back at 6.5! whats up with that?! BOY this is a whole new ballgame from my soil runs! lol.

damn bro overnight it jumps that far.. mine take atleast 2-3 days to rise back to 6. and i have a 20 gal res... IMO the hydroton must be making the ph jump up.. i know when i first rinsed my Hydroton off the run off was like 6-7 had to soak it in 5.5 ph water overnight.. that might not be the case, i have never run a ebb&flo table full of hydroton...

i got a feeling you wont do that again after you harvest and have to clean all that shit up...

heres another update for u guys, everything has been goin real well. I got in there last night after lights out and snagged these pics, the last pic I just took this morning with the lights back on. I put 2 samples I got from my store to use, they seem to have really helped out. I foliar sprayed with SuperNatural Green Stay, and I added SuperNatural Ultimate Thrive to the res. just a small little free sample bottle. about 100 ml.

U can see how some of the outer edge of the leaves are losing the green, they are also kinda cupping either up or down, and the tips are curled up and dried crispy. I dont know whats wrong. I mean its not a huge deal, they are growing great, but I dont know why they arent perfect.

tical-- i would give them another week to get healthy and flip them.. 12-14inches they should get close to 3ft and bushy.. might have to trim some under growth if it get to dense... looks alot better now.. but once you get everything under control you will wonder why you didnt switch sooner..
