"Reasonable Suspicion" could allow Arizona cops to pull you over

Here we go - down the slope to apartheid and big brother

Scary shit - lets hope Mexico starts harassing white drivers with Arizona plates.

Hope every state starts harassing white drivers with Arizona plates.

License, registration, insurance, proof of citizenship, and confiscate all cash found under forfeiture laws.

Sounds fair.

its called probable cause, and if you look suspicious and turn around wehn a cops behind you like your doing something wrong you will get pulled over. I think its like that every where, I know in Texas they love to pull you over for probable cause..lol

It's called a Terry stop and a Terry Frisk. If they have reason to believe you were involved in, are in involved in or will be involved in criminal activity they have reasonable suspicion to pull you over and give you a "terry" frisk style pat down.

if they want to pull you over. They will 'find' an vehicle or driving infraction to do so.

Last time I was in Mexico, American plates made you a target of the police. You either paid the bribe for your trumped up charge on the spot, or you went to jail and paid the bribe to get out.

The future of burn rides in Arizona lies in the balances!

I dunno. I am a hugh supporter of rights... both property and individual, but when the state I live in (CA) is spending over 5 billion/year in supporting illegal alliens in one form or another, I want something done about the problem. At least Az has the balls to do something, like it or not.

It's an unfortunate fact (but a fact none the less) that 95% of illegal immigration is from mexico, making profiling easy. But that is a fact and facts are facts.

Same holds true with freaking muslims at the airport. I can't think of many terrorists that don't have that faith and demographic in common.

So, you can bury your head in the sand and ignore the facts, but facts are facts, and if 95% of the problem comes from one easily identifiable group, then it is stupid to ignore that fact. About as stupid as searching granny at the airport while the guy with the rag on his head breezes right through security.

cold hard truth usualy hurts like all fucking mighty...

always a bad apple (illigals taking welfare) giving
good apples a bad name (hard working illigals just supporting family) who wouldnt dream of OTHERWISE breaking the law!
while under the guise of immigration there really hunting down cartel members and further removing 'personal rights'

still though, just pulling over random brown people doesnt seam quite right either... alot of brown people who are born hear(or got citizenship) are going to get there rights trampled, and that, too, is wrong.

answer depends on the personal views or each person.

Cops must have a reason to stop you...and a traffic mistake is always the way they use to stop you. It is what happens AFTER you get stopped that makes a difference. Never answer any questions, never give consent, and ask several times if you are free to leave. do NOT play their game....you cannot win. Play your OWN game and you stand a chance.

If a cop knows that you are legally aware and likley have a lawyer, the cops will usually back off from any really serious violations of rights..and if they do not then at least you have done all you can to give your attorney the ammo he needs for a dismissal or exclusion of evidence.

this is the truth, be respectful but don't let them walk all over your rights, decline the search

OK - then I guess everything is fair and balanced.

My bad.

Yeah in mexico there were plenty of issues with Americans over there. As far as the how dare they do this and that. Here is a thought, just like every other country COME IN LEGALLY and you won't have issues.

If I was a muslim for instance with my head dress on and so on I could see why people might look at me funny or get nervous getting on a plane with me. Is it right? HELL NO but I wouldn't put down my street smarts just to be fuckin p.c. and god forbid offend someone. Here is a thought, you don't want people to profile your entire culture, have your culture stop fuckin shit up.

I don't buy the "build a fence and it will stop" b.s. especially when all the free cash and aid is right here for the taking. What would you do? If you could either wait in line for odds are 5+ years to come over legally or hop a fence and STILL get the same free shit.

Legalize drugs over here
Remove all free aid

and the so called profiling will stop.

Also this has ZERO to do with white versus brown in the least. We have a rainbow of colors here in america and that will always continue and is one reason I love this place. Multi-cultural living at its best BUT with shitty government control that is fuckin up the works.

Side note

I used to live with a family member in an expensive area, I didn't look like I belonged nor did I care. I got pulled over in my beater truck over 15 times on the one main road and WITHOUT doing a damn thing wrong each and every time. I never got arrested, ticketed BUT I sure as hell got hassled.

We are raised to not judge a book by its cover BUT we do that as an instinct whether a person believes they are doing it or not.

There is a great image showing a white guy lookin shady in an alley and then a black guy looking shading and the statement was, who would you feel safer walking down an alley and seeing. Just by you simply looking at appearance, you were the one profiling and judging a book by its cover. Can't find the damn image BUT it made a solid point.

It isn't simply our government or police that profile but we do it in our daily lives. Anyone remember high school and our "clicks" that we CHOSE to be in. We like to be around those who are the same, same interests and so forth. Not saying that is the only thing we did BUT it was there and still is.

For instance,

when you think child molester, don't you think older white guy? I know I do because most of the sick fucks that I have seen get tagged for shit like that were white. So should I be p.c. about that when some old white guys are hanging around my sons school? fuck no, street smarts and gut feelings are what keeps us on the ball. If I am wrong, my bad but I am not going to take the p.c. route with shit like that.

If there happens to be a ton of mexicans jumping borders and fuckin shit up I wouldn't be focusing on blacks, whites and asians when trying to curb the situation, would you?

Dude, "Zonee" law, just incorporated racism into its big book of OK today...You are morally obliged to give 'em maximum sh*t at every juncture possible.

Sounds like Arpaio may be ready to take Kyl's place soon.

How would everyone feel if the profiling was for suspected pot smokers, and everyone that fit the profile was pulled over and checked for drugs? Reasonable suspicion is just an admission that the laws are unenforceable without the LEO's breaking the law, they have done it for years, and gotten away with it unless you have a seriously high priced lawyer to fight for the rights you are supposed to have.
There is no reasonable suspicion, it is all just police doing what they want to regardless of the laws, just like they have done for decades....
All the time the police enforce laws they want to and ignore violations by their brothers in blue, everyone knows that cops don't rat on their own very much, because they are afraid to.

profiling pot heads

that happens all the time

I think people forget who those cops are following though. Most are from above for who they need to be on the look out for or need to enforce. Just like our military who "follows orders" and do what they are told as well.

I think it has zero to do with those who enforce the laws whether legally or shady but rather those WE have put into office and into the ruling class who gets to toss down the orders.

Are the cops right who do it? no but they have jobs to do and justify it because in the end it is a good thing.

Everything is getting fucked up in this world. We get banned from using cell phones while driving to reduce deaths. We are removing salt in our food because people apparently can't decide for themselves what is healthy to it

BUT

we still are more than happy to leave cig smokers and drinkers alone who die daily or like drunk drivers kill non stop everyday. Why would cell phones be banned when it makes up what .0000001% of deaths on the roads?

Our whole system is backwards

We need to be TOLD how to live because apparently we can't do it on our own and many people seem to feel that it makes sense IF it helps in the end.

Give up liberty for security and you get jack shit

back on topic

I still would like to know how they can tell an illegal from a legal mexican though?

I also don't care about the drug wars and gang issues coming across the border because the main issue is the damn free aid over here which needs to GO AWAY

remove the income tax and any other non levied taxes that keep getting drummed up. Just waiting for a fuckin VAT tax to be put into place.

this country is going to shit BUT it pretty much needs to for a revolution to happen. I say let it go to shit so we can rebuild it. If people think what we are doing now is a good thing then lets continue down this road and see where it takes us and how long it will be until we collapse.

We lived off of the chinese for many years but now we have decided to move towards a russian alliance which I find laughable at best.

Profiling is wrong, if anything many people need to keep up on videotaping vehicle stops for others. That is one way that this bullshit does get put out there and the cops having the spot light of being the piece of shit they are.

For the many videos we see of shitty cops beating people up or planting stuff on them there are thousands that we never get to see and odds are those people ended up behind bars due to not being able to fight it in court due to lack of funds.

We need a complete overhaul of our entire political and judiciary ruling class as well as our military and police complexes.

Sadly true my friend. Transporting weed is how most cops find it, whether smoked or bagged.

The same will apply at your house. If they don't like something they see or get a tip, they can immediately investigate a "noise complaint" or the famously lame knock and talk line: "we got a 911 call from this address about a domestic distubance, so we have to come in and so a safety check." Which quickly leads to "we smell weed" and other shit they can use too easily. Which is still easy to convince a judge to sign a search warrant on (probable cause.)

Which is why you don't consent, don't volunteer your card or weed even if you're legal, only provide it if they ask for it. Don't consent to a search, and DO NOT SPEAK TO THE COPS except to identify yourself, nothing else is required by law.

Everything you say WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU. Not to help you. The word HELP is not in Miranda. Every word you utter makes your attorney's job harder, if not downright impossible.

This all from an attorney I interrogated onstage at the Cannabis Expo last weekend in S.F. Maybe someone saw me bug the old guy about Federal Injunctions and the DEA in Cali this November?

I hate having to live in fear of cops, and I don't think legalization will change this much. They will still push the limits of their power ever greater.

The time will come when we start fearing our own shame more than the cops (or our government) more than the cops themselves.

But eventually we will need a leader who believes the country should be led by our Constitution more than rich old white men. But I believe such a thing shall not exist in my lifetime.

If all I can do in my lifetime is educate my children then I feel I will have done plenty to get the country back to where it was. Will we get our country back in my lifetime? unsure as well but sure as hell am going to let those around me hear my point of view whether they care for it or not.

Biting your tongue on the two topics that NEED discussion never solves anything. Politics and Religion need to be discussed because those are the two main things that run our country and those who are the ruling class in general.

They tell us not to talk about the hot topics and tell us that is because we might cause issues, fights and or arguements. Well I think if that is how it needs to be then so be it. Those two topics are WORTH fighting over and using our voice is a pretty damn solid weapon.

We the people WILL win in the end, we have done it before and when the time comes MANY and I mean MANY will stand up with us.

On the needing a new leader, I think exactly the opposite. We actually need to REDUCE the hell out of government and especially federal control over the states. Someone like Ron Paul would not be a leader but rather what I would consider a "clean up crew".

Now I am not saying Ron Paul is going to be president BUT I feel someone like him will be coming up the ranks locally, statewide and then on the federal level. We are sneeking in whether they see it or not and even if they do so be it.

My friends and I talk about, what if Ron Paul were president and odds are how fast the elite will try and take his ass out like they did with ALL previous POSITIVE roles in high power roles. We talked about instead of the "Secret Service" there would be plenty of us regular constitutionalists with our M1's happy to take turns standing guard.

back on topic again lol

so profiling

has anyone read up on what type of profiling information to work from that the police were given?

For instance for homegrown terrorists they had fucked up guides stating those who flew flags, spouted constitutional rights and what I would consider true Americans. Where was that pamphlet? anyone have an image of it.
