any1 used weed to help quit tobacco?

I have decided , it is over with cigarettes. Have done it once in the past and now I hope it's forever.

My question:

Is it a good idea to smoke some pure weed when you're having that 'tobacco need' feeling ? Is it helping any?

I roll spliffs. I do not have a problem with smoking weed only spliffs, tobacco really bothers me.

so ... any1 has done it with the help of it?

maybe it isn't the best idea.

anyway I'm going for the cold turkey strategy.

I think its a great idea.

I quit tobacco with weed.

I was a heavy smoker, more than 20 smokes a day.

So I decided to lower my tobacco use before trying to quit completely.

Over several months I gradually lowered the amount of tobacco I allowed myself. First 10 smokes a day then every week I took one away until I was down to 1 a day.

After a month of one a day I quit and smoked weed for every craving. I rolled up a bunch of joints and kept them on me at all times. I smoked huge amounts of weed and wanted my tobacco back but I made it.

I have not had tobacco in 12 years now.

to me the weed and the cigs went hand in hand.
everytime i smoked weed out came a cigarette.
i finally quit by using an electronic cigarette from ebay. i was a two pack a day smoker for 20 years and now i just use the electric cig when it gets to be too much.
i found that strong sativas made me want to smoke cigarettes more.
indicas that were relaxing actually helped take some of the urges away and made nicotine withdrawl less stressful.
if you havent tried the electronic cigarettes yet i would strongly suggest it because it worked for me and if i can quit then anybody can. i was a true cig addict.

I only smoke when I drink. When home I light a joint, and just puff on it to keep my hands busy. Then I jerk off!

No offense, just curious but,

If you are smoking an electric cigarette, how do you consider that having quit?

Does it not supply real tobacco nicotine?

I've never been a smoker (social only, when I used to party too much). But I would absolutely recommend replacing cannabis with tobacco whenever possible! It's NOT carcinogenic, unlike tobacco.

Sounds more like smoking helps you deal with your compulsive masturbation.

Try duct taping your hands into fists for as long as possible...cant jerk it like that...

I have used herb to help with drinking and smoking cigs as well. It is more of a "I need a cig" well I will smoke a bowl and forget that cig or "damn I want a beer" well let's smoke a bowl and forget that beer.

With cigs it only takes 3-5 days at most to get over that "rip your face off mad at the world" craving issues but after that you are shocked it was that stressful.

Herb will work wonders getting over many addictions. Where I think people mess up is by drinking in place of cigs and so on. Another mess up is, being out of herb and replacing that with smokes. Herb doesn't give you that addictive stressful feeling when you are out like cigs do.

Just stop smoking tobacco. Thats what i did, day 31 now. All in the mind....change your way of thinking.

I used to roll spliffs with tobacco, so i quit tobacco & bought a bong. I've found my weed intake has gone down and the the stone is alot better.

Like i say...Just stop. Forget gradually giving up, just stop smoking tobacco!!

no offense taken SB.
you are right i am a nicotine addict still
but no longer a smoker.
the electronic cigarette vaporizes glycol and nicotine without combustion much like an herb vaporizer.
to me it was the health problems associated with cigarettes that made me want to stop not neccesarily being addicted to nicotine.
i tried nicotine gum, pills, hypnosis, laser beams, and cold turkey
all to no avail. the electronic cigarette gives me the feeling of smoking but without the negative health problems.

I did this method worked for me i guess. I usually smoked blunts so when i stopped the cigs i rolled joints until i could break myself of the nicotine.I did smoke a lot of extra weed though :D

yeah the cig every once in awhile is a hard beast to tame lol.

with those it is usually all or nothing especially if you have an addictive personality. You know you do when you are focused on "routines".

I have quit tobacco on more than one occasion sadly...I always find it easer to go out on the weekend and get very drunk, smoke as much tobacco as you possibly can and trust me you wont want to smoke for at least 3 days. This makes it so much easier as the first couple of days are for sure the hardest.

Ok, I see. That does sound like it would be much healthier than smoking cigarettes.Good for you.

Thanks

I did it.

Nowadays, though, I smoke almost as much weed as I did tobacco. I'm pretty much convinced that with my method of consumption (smoking, not eating, vaping, etc), it's worse than smoking cigarettes as far as lung health goes.

Still, I see it as a win.

No i just quit cold turkey last time. I have been off cigs for 9 months. I only smoke about a half gram of weed a day so it wouldnt be a very effective substitute for cigs.

A friend of mine went to e-cigs and seems to love them. He said he even has a full pack lying around and no need to smoke them.

Good luck staying off the death sticks man!

Thanks, It takes persistence to "never take another puff." A little luck doesn't hurt either.

A lot of people that i know love blunts, but i always cringe when i see one, as i don't want anything to do with nicotine. I puffed on a few weeks ago and didn't run back to the death sticks so they must be pretty low in the nicotine.

I have found that if i do start again it starts with black and milds then cigars then right back to cigs. I havent had a craving in months. I have a good feeling about this quit.

you guys kill me, some funny shit there

I wish you all best of luck in quitting, do it now before it's
too late. my mom had quit for the past 23 yrs but damage
done to her lungs impeded her recovering from a surgery
and was a contributory factor in her death last yr.
