Apollo 11 Purple and Genius Pheno's!!!

Hey, these are JW Apollo 11 f2's. First up is the purpling, higher yielding pheno. This one turns light purple when it is exposed to high temps and cold nights. Smells very tropical when brushed. Day 48.

Looks great...I just finished growing one Apollo11 along with LSD, CindyHaze, Satori, Afghan.

I sampled the A11 a few weeks ago and I wasn't all that impressed with it. It looks great...quite a bit like yours...but it was weak smoke. The worst of the bunch so far. The high wasn't very strong, and it didn't last. Hopefully I got a bad one...because I'm not too impressed with it. I'll let you know what I think in a few weeks, after a decent cure.

I picked the top cola at 90 days...and just took the bottom half yesterday at 100 days. I take mine when the tricomes are just starting to show some amber. The buds "looked" ready (hairs changing color) a long time ago, but the trics weren't ready yet. I haven't smoked the latest buds yet...hopefully they're stronger. I hear a LOT that this plant get's much stronger during the last week or two...we'll see...

I've got some nice pictures and I'll be sending in a grow report soon...

I'm hoping that I got a bad one...because I made some seeds of all these strains I grew using an A11 male... I originally planted 3 A11 seeds and got 2 boys.

Taken early and needing a cure...I'd rank them in order of "dankness" and quality of smoke... C99xHaze, LSD, Satori, then A11. I haven't smoked the Afghan yet. But that was grown for "sleepy time" smoke to help me sleep at night.

Good luck with yours and hopefully yours will be stronger and long lasting...I'm sending you good Karma!

I definitely would not have let the Apollo 11 go 90-100 days it is meant to be harvested at 49-56 days for the best high. I picked my cindy 99 X apollo 11 at day 56 with 15% amber. 90 days seems like supreme overkill and may be why you are unhappy with the high.

IBJ-I'd also say you missed the optimum harvest window which IME is 56-60 days ... I let an A11 go 70-75 Once and it was stonier than all hell but didn't have the Lift Off I find in it when taken sooner.

It wasn't ready yet...let me explain...

They were started in late Nov out in a metal shed. We've had the coldest winter since forever. They almost froze to death several times. They've been...delayed...that's the best way to describe them.

I'm trying to u/l some pictures... I did try it at 50 then 60 days...trust me, it wasn't ready. I was just beginning to see an amber or two when I finally chopped it. It just wouldn't settle down and mature! It kept adding more...

I'm going to start the day out with it tomorrow...I'll report back. I'm an old retired guy who does a wake and bake every day...so maybe I'm a little tolerant. Retirement is GOOD!

OK...pics up...there are more in my journal...

This is my A11 at 90 days just before the chop. That burning is from the light. It was a vertical grow. It just kept growing more and more pistils...

This is a closeup of the mail cola...believe me, it looks better than it is...it's not very dense. Nowhere near the trichome production I expected.

This is a 100 day bud...you can see it's STILL putting out flowers and there are less than 2% amber.

This was a 400W, vertical, CMH, semi-soil, A/N nutes, grow...in FREEZING conditions.

I pollinated a few branches of each plant with a A11 male. It looked like a good example...really short and stout for a male. I had to use it after not getting any male flowers using GA3.

I'm REALLY hoping my A11 was a fluke...and the male delivers some premier genetics to the others...

Everyone here liked their A11? It wasn't too weak? Too short lived?

Mine were consistent and potent. But I cut it around 70 days and it did still have a fair few clear trichs.

But I think the A11 high is characterized by this early harvest. The later you leave it, the less clarity remains in the high. And I think mine was continuing flowering too until I hit it with some GH Ripen to force it to finish.

Hope a cure brings out the quality in this strain m8. I doubt any progeny would turn out to be "weak" weed.
