Moving to Colorado (adventure)

I currently live in Arizona. Housing market is screwed, the construction industry is shutdown and our sheriff is a Nazi. Nothing is produced here this state consumes. There is an initiative coming up this November to legalize MMJ. The Governor has said she would not sign off on it. Arizona is so broke they have already voted to tax MMJ. If it does not pass this November I well be headed for the mountains. Where is the best place to move in the state that is equal parts (family friendly and cost effective and MMJ friendly)? Must also have a hospital in reasonable distance for a place to work.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions. The planning has begun!

I hear Utah is awesome

Yea, if you wanna get butt rapped by meth smoking mormon zombies that think evil devil aliens planted marijuana on earth....and oh yea, Jesus was an American, the garden of Eden was in Missouri, and the Native americans were actually ancient Israelites.....it makes perfect sense

It really depends on what you're looking for. Family friendly means different things to different people.

I live in the Denver metro area. I grew up on the east coast and got transferred here back in '01. I'm used to urban areas, and Denver is the only thing that's even close to being urban. Honestly I couldn't stand CO when I first got transferred here back in '01. It took a couple of years for it to grow on me, and it's only been the last 2 years that I finally thought of Denver as home. People still get a kick when I say Denver's a small city. Some even get upset. Usually come to find out they're from a small town somewhere, and this is big city to them. Me - I'm used to going out any night of the week and partying until dawn. Doesn't happen in Denver, at least not publicly (home parties don't count). Drive downtown on a Tuesday after 11pm, and it's a ghost town. But it's still growing and it's gotten better in the last few years.

Anyway if you're looking for work in the medical field, Denver has the most hospitals. All the other hospitals in the State are just small rural hospitals. If anything major happens, they send the patients to Denver. I also work in the medical field as a technologist. The Denver area is the only area in the state where I can find full-time work. Anywhere else, I'll just be on call - i.e. get a page, go in, punch in, work, then punch out. So depending on what part of the medical field you're looking for, that could really narrow things down for you. Any questions about Colorado medical field stuff, feel free to ask me. I'll try to help as much as possible.

I cant offer any advice as I am Canadian but it does sound like something I would do. Colorado is beautiful and I wish you all the best bud!!

Could one drive into Colorado, rent an apartment, get a drivers license, get approved by a mmj doctor, and be legally vaping meds in the same day?

Where in Cali were you? Shit is just a mess out there right now, especially down in LA! SF Bay area seems to have its MMJ shit figured out, tho prices are stupid!!!

sonoma county. it's nice but seems to be too well established. all the pros already got it fairly on lock. retiring from growing in houses, being 100% legal, and focusing on the wellness and health of patients is the goal.

from what most of the CO threads on here indicate, top tier, local, organic are what the patients and dispensaries have a lack of. legal warehouses and dispensaries seem more doable in Colorado than cali.

Would love to meet with a dispensary owner/manager if possible.

if you are coming to set up a dispensary, be sure to check the latest version of HB10-1284.
They just tagged on a 2 year minimum CO residency requirement to get a license.

Just wondering because you mentioned meeting MMJ lawyer and MMC owner.

Oh and the 4 seasons here are Winter, Spring, Fall, and Winter :)
