But it had the most amazing Leaf cover trics...so I was smoking more leaf.
Strength was Stupid..(so was grow smell)

But look at the tric cover coming in...

picture.php
t'would be interesting to work with this trait...promote the trich coverage on the vegetative growth...shame it appears associated with the small bud size...If you could peel the 2 away, now that would be worth something!

Lowrdr - before I got sick I was a bit of an alpinist...love your avatar...I am putting it in my minds eye, that you are giving up the ganja for the moment cause you are gonna climb everest and smoke a fatty on the summit>>>got yer lungs in training right now so you can make the climb...you and tensig norgay, on top of the world, tokin a big fat blunt. :dance013:

Wow, that is some insane trich coverage on those. In theory, Ice has that same dense coverage, but not on the leaf surface to the degree that plant does!

Fantastic work you guys :plant grow:

:chin:

Nah...cannot see it myself.....:noway:

If someone could get that Afghan trait onto the Fat headed bud that is the Line...
it would probably look something like this....
with lollipop sized bud..and tric crusts

picture.php

Then..if you stuck a JEM in there with it..
it would probably look like this...
4 inch tall..thick as your thumb buds..with trics like velcro..that crunch under your fingers...

Nah...cannot see that happening..

Im fully convinced to start working with autos and indicas rather then with the sativa hybrids ive started with...

Real impressive show, that black girl is spectacular, ive never seen anything like it. Wow what a plant, looks primevil tbh, like something out of the dinosaur days..

real jawdropper, ive got to rep around tho :D peace mate

Brilliant m8!!! Great minds Do think alike now, don't they :scripture:

I should have known you would have already walked that path...I am GREEN with envy over your time to explore....Alas, I must continue to fight the battle a few more years till I can join you:clock watch:

It was a beautiful day in the mountains today....got home in time to watch the sunset....Cheers

:yay: I'm Evil.....aren't I....
(It comes with having kids...)

Yeah..there is a fat budded pheno in the Afghan Line too..
so...
thinking of the Afghan dominant traits that I banged into the ALF#3 to Take the DC..
I should be able to spring it if I need it...

BUT..I still want the small budded one out if I can get it.
(Probably the reason Afghan was bred out originally)
IMO..she is a Way Back Afghan...very pure...
and as such if I can Hyb..
she would be an excellent breeding block.
Pure Afghan slug of stable genetics would exhance almost any cross.

Im fully convinced to start working with autos and indicas rather then with the sativa hybrids ive started with...

We need to talk..that homework thread you brought in has had my head spinning with possibilities.
We talk about it and you tell me what you think.

Cheers m8...:tiphat:
Go up to esbe's thread in Outdoor growing..
oooo...oooo...ooooo....:kissass:
He is pulling the Black out with another Deep Chunk..and they are Beautiful.
Looks like he has the Botanical Black coming out...
They have exactly the same green central corona as mine have..
(but I think they will total black out.)
AND..
he has the massive tric cover pheno that curls the sides of the leaf...
I just sat drooling when I saw them..:faint:

I am GREEN with envy over your time to explore....
My homework is your homework...biglaugh:

Zombo..

Yeah m8..the one I saw had dense coverage.
I thought the very deep purple...and the red JEM would be brilliant
like a slice under the Ice.

I have figured exactly the same thing, that pure afghan probably has extremely low yield, it is very very leafy with thick very fibery stems.

And I think I can actually describe why..

If we read about the sequoia trees from the primal earth north pole. We learn that the metasequoia which is the one in the family that is more like the original, its better adapted to continuous light, we learn that it much more efficiently then its more modern relatives continuously metabolizes light photosynthesis into startch!!

Starch would be what makes up the stems and leaves. This is why the sequoia tree is the tallest and largest of all. It is due to its capacity to metabolize light very efficiently.

I have also noticed how I often get plants with very wide leaves when I veg them under strong, continuous light. I also have some pictures to show you guys from an auto grow north of the polar circle, thats +66north! And you will be amazed to hear that the results were excellent, the plants yielded very well and most interestingly of all they grew very wide large fanleaves and thick stems in this habitat. Possibly because of the same type of behavior as in the metasequoias where they metabolize the extra light into starch. Looking at these autos you will be amazed how much they resemble an indica. You will also notice the trichome coverage is quite impressive for an auto grow outdoors north of the polar circle.

We need to talk..that homework thread you brought in has had my head spinning with possibilities.
We talk about it and you tell me what you think.

We must talk indeed my friend, im afraid we have just started picking at this stuff..

Im just thinking out loud, but im wondering what the hell were sensi seed bank thinking for example when they released the Bulgarian Ruderalis Indica? If you tell me you have up to 75% fully auto offspring in the F1 generation when crossing autos to indicas..

Then how the hell do they release a plant thats neither fowl nor fish, its hardly more potent then a lowryder and its not auto.. basically its useless to both breeders and growers unless there is some hidden genetic treasure in it?!! Shouldnt they have discovered something was up when working on this cross?

The ruderalis indica is a landrace from Bulgaria, its bred out of feral ruderalis to a classic western drug type indica. But the Bulgarian ruderalis is not fully automatic afaik, I can not find any trustworthy information about any larger living fully automatic population of feral weed basically anywhere.. Its an odd plant here and there, but most of the larger populations of feral weed is not automatic as far as i can understand. Now if the theory regarding ruderalization of Indicas holds true, where is all the fully automatic feral weed? Because im searching and posting in all domestic forums where its supposed to be but nobody can bring me a single wild auto seed for breeding purps. I even have good friends in Russia that are bringing seeds from wide and far, its not fully auto...Its all adapted to its habitat. Poland, ukraine and Bulgaria is not far enough north to produce auto cannabis, neither is Denmark. Neither is the Altai mountain range at around 50 north.

im wondering.. im wondering, rather then that the autos are spreading like bushfire and becoming a real problem, im wondering im wondering.. are they actually running extinct? Maybe we are under time pressure to bring them to the arctic.

There should be plenty of these feral autos, I would love to see pictures of them if anyone has any.

Cheers m8...:tiphat:

ahh yess indeed those are some spectacular chunk crosses..

Coloration should have to do with photosynthetic capacity, I think it should be possible to provoke colors out of the plants by experimenting with light as seen with CFL grows and when one puts the plants in cold weather. But wait until you see the lowryders grown in the arctic, they turned purple and black .. let me just find that for you bro :D

This is very inspirational times moss :D, think we may have an epiffany or two this summer in the auto community... I hope so atleast.

mossy :thank you: you are teaching me a lot.
As you say the tric cover is related with small bud... But are you are doing... I'm searching very similar traits like you: quantity and quality of trics ;) Probably you've found the good way to get both :dance013:
In a pair of years the automatic strians have changed a lot! I remind the first LR... My friends didn't believe me...

Do you use a reflex camera or is a compact? beautiful pics! I can appreciate the trics cover!

Now I'm sprouting a lot of different auto crosses just to search some interesting and get some seeds to keep it...

Which soil do you use for grow? composana universal? or do you buy it in grow shops? each year I try differents.

hey moss man. have you had any trouble with your dc/alf? this is my second time trying to grow them and they took a shit on me again. the sprouts came out of the box fast. then i put them in soil and waited for them to pop their heads. when they did i put them under 6 24 watt cfl's. the next day, 4-5 of them shriveled up and died the after i put them in my cfl box.

Guys..got caught up with some Unexpected visitors.

Party at My place..you are all invited..

I'm taking them back to the airport friday morning..so I should get back in then.

picture.php

I'll leave you a pic of the RED leaf pheno..
(I knew there was more than 1 leaf trait at work in that cross.)
Bearing in mind I think she will be the way back Nasty afghan...
with evil smell and evil effect.
Do you think Lady in Red...OR...Scarlet Woman...?

hey moss man. have you had any trouble with your dc/alf?
I'll not keep you waiting to Friday with that one Smokey..
(I've yet to germ test the DC/ALF..
I have the first 5 re-tests out and they are doing Okay..
but she isn't one of them.
I'll stick them in the next Test I run.)

BUT..
My germ probs were Absolute Germ Failure...I couldn't even get them to sprout.
I THINK you may be the only one with those genetics too..
so I might not have a comparison.
Damn sorry for them M8.

Beautiful colors mossy :D

And to answer your question, the indica pheno is a better painkiller. 2 hits plus a cigarette and your gooooood.

no worries. i have already germed and placed in soil some of my jem f2's. the last dc dried up and died today. i don't understand how that is happening. i have never seen it before except with the dc/alf's.

The author of "The Emperor Wears No Clothes", Jack Herer, has died after complications related to his heart attack seven months ago.

Jack was the #1 advocate for cannabis.

ICMAG has gone black in his honor
:joint: Fattie with love for Jack Herer.
Another bright star in Canna Heaven.

Can't wait..
I'll catch up on the home-work shortly.
I've still got me visitors..bloody volcano..:biglaugh:

It was a beautiful day in the mountains today....got home in time to watch the sunset....Cheers
ChynaRyder..aye m8..it is Special every single night.
I love my sunsets..:thank you:

CARCHOFA..

Universal..from the garden centre..no added ferts.
As you say the tric cover is related with small bud... But are you are doing... I'm searching very similar traits like you:
That is what is So interesting...
1 set of goals..two different journeys..

SmokeyTheBear...I've set 50 of the DC/ALF off today.
Temps/light crap..so I'll probably be slow..
but..good or bad I will post the results.
See if we can figure it out.

Meaty...aye m8..I always get best out of Indys..but it is supposed to be the other way round ain't it..?
I wasn't getting Satis at all until I realised they needed a longer cure time..for Me at least.

I went to my head shop today..it looked shut..so I knocked on the window
a hand came out..grabbed me by the t-shirt and dragged me in the shop and shut the door behind me.
Turned out there was 4 of them in there sharing a bong..:smoke out:
You couldn't see the stock for the smoke.

soooo..
I bought 5 of the new punnet pots and a bottle of ferts..
30 euros...(with staff discount..:tiphat:)
Got a 1 ltr bottle of organic ferts..with added Neem..for nowt to sample..
a chug on spliff..
and a packet of seed that he crossed with the JEM that he says are Silver Budded...

It's been a good day..

Have a great weekend everyone...:dance013:

moss. how has your potency been with your purple jem phenos. i have been wondering if i messed something up along the way in the process. every time i get a purple pheno the potency seems to be lacking. i love the color but i just can't get that hit you in the face smell like with the green phenos.

M

mossy

That sounds like a good place to shop mossy
:smoke:
It Certainly is my m8.
I'm testing the fert with bug protection now..and I'll bring the new pots shortly.
Put them through their paces.

SmokeyTheBear..How many times have you heard me say...
the Best taste/strength/effect pheno in the JEM is the White...?

I've shouted it from the roof tops...
BUT..
no-one listens.

On your first grow you only had Colours..
so you had no comparisson..
now you have the White you understand exactly what I was saying.

AND..you only have the Green/white..(I THINK)
the Hard white..with ginger pistils is even Stronger again.

IMO...for My Meds..I want an Ultra strong Afghan dom taste/high.
I get...
70-75% of that in the Dark Purple
80-85% in the mixed/light purple or Reds
90-95% in the White.

Try letting the deep purples go a bit longer time wise than the whites..
stagger cut-down time.
(General gardening lore says the depth of colour affects transpiration
so they may simply not be going over as fast as the whites)

IMO..simply by testing...testing..testing....:smoke out:
I would say that the White is High THC..
the Colour more towards high CBN..
and again..
against reading material that is available for med patients
For MY MEDS..it is High THC that floats my boat.

I did notice in the JD description that they have considerably lowered the Expected THC % content.
I THINK they may have done that because they are working on the content of the coloured phenos only.

Fight for the Whites..:good:
