Anyone know what brand or where to get a good well made hoophouse Kit or greenhouse kit . Professional grade not something cheap thats going to fall apart but still about $600? I say Hoophouse since I only want to spend $600 to $700 and my wife wont let me put a okey doke rig set up and i suck at building my own stuff so I need a kit that will make a decent looking hoop house with doors and end walls. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Home depot has alot of options for portable type greenhouses, they cant be left out over the winter, they deteriorate quickly if left to the conditions year round.

Depending on where you are located at you can build one out of PVC tubing at a relative low price. They are rather sturdy also..... There is a lot of info on the web do a search....

+1 for farmtek.
honestly, once you blow all that dosh and see just how easy they are to make you're gonna feel foolish. happened to me, so i'm not just blowing hot air. if you can assemble a pre-made hoophouse kit, you can do some research and make your own instead of paying too much for supplies and shipping.

My first idea was too intensive. However, I have a green house frame kit that is in storage. I think the clear plastic canvass is still usable. I remember the wind torn it a bit at the seams near the door flap.

i like looking around ebay for suppliers, a lot of ebay people buy in bulk and resell, or are the small time manufactures themselves. farmtek is cheap, and probably a very quality product. i would rather support american made shit though. even if it is only $700. im really liking growerssolution.com. they are located in tenessey, and are greenhouse farmers, who moved into manufacturing greenhouses. they have a hobby version for $550, or a 16x24ft greenhouse for 750. i called them up, very nice sales reps. they could get it to the west coast in 10 days he said, and it takes a weekend to set up. support americans that do real work, because that is the feature of this country. and fuck sunlight supply. i bet farmtek is in cahoots with them...:gday:

Betty Mills is Fraudulant!!!!!!!!

Betty Mills is Fraudulant!!!!!!!!

Ok so this is what has happened to me with Betty Mills.

I saw the link posted above and called the number... I ordered the greenhouse and was told my order was approved and would show up in 5-7 business days... Later i realized that Rhino Shelter is the actual company that Betty Mills is dropshipping for and they are only charging $499 US... so i called to inquire if i could order direct from them... The owner of the company, (a very nice and helpful man) told me that they were back ordered for 5-7 weeks... as they are made in China. I called back to ask BettyMills why they would gaurentee 5-7 days when it was actually 5-7 weeks. They gave me a different story than i was told during the actuial purcahse, so i told them to cancel my order, and i was hung up on. I called back and was told i had a bad attitude and to never call back...

Heres the thing. The $$ was already taken out of my account, Betty
Mills will not call back, and i dont want the greenhouse in 5-7 weeks, i need it sooner. I filed a complaint with my bank, who is going to call and tell them that they entered a verbal contract with me when they said the greenhouse would be there in 5-7 days, and that they broke the contract by lying to me... They said they can maybe get my money back...

I did a reverse phone number search and found their offices in San Mateo... I want to go up there and go nuts, but i feel a letter from my lawyer will do more good.

Stay away from this company. They are liars, and theives, and everything they sell can be purchased from the manufacterer for almost half cost... FYI... i think im gonna have to bite the bullet and pay for quality.:tiphat:

I'm going to try and build ours out of chain link top rail tubing. I've looked at all the kits and for the price of just the basic frame on the larger houses (eg 20x48) you can purchase nearly ALL of the stuff and put it together yourself. There is an outfit in Colorado who sells all of the connector pieces to put cut lengths of chain link top rail tubing (1 3/8) together but I didn't like the end-wall style since it looks like it would leak air.

My plan is to buy 19 foot lengths of 1 3/8in top rail tubing from a local fence distributor for around $12 each. The ends are swaged (enlarged) to allow one piece to fit into the other. They make all kinds of connectors for chain link fencing which will work.

The purlins (poles running the long way) can be hung from the ribs using u-bolts or just look at GrowerSolution's videos, those little strap-bolt things would be super simple to fab up by forming with a hammer around some spare tubing and then drilling.

I'm going to go with wirelock channel since you can use two wires on top of each other to independently attach two (or three) separate pieces of film, shadecloth, etc.

The ends can be made out of treated wood or whatever. I don't like using treated wood though, but maybe I can just separate my soil. Oh, speaking of which, we're on a mountain slope so the entire area is going to have to be leveled but I have almost no topsoil anyway so it's probably just going to have to be imported. Hopefully this will mean less excavation to level the site.

The inflatable plastic can be done on the cheap with a fan and plywood sandwiched around the plastic with a 4inch hole cut in the middle.

Roll up sides would take some more engineering but is doable.

I just looked at what it would cost for the base frame kit and what was actually being purchased and it seems a lot cheaper to just source the components and put it together myself. Like $400-500 for all of the tubes for a 20x48. Rip-stop or woven poly from Northern Greenhouse seems like a no-brainer since they can make it into custom pieces and it's supposed to be durable stuff!
