spain - hostel ?

hey,

since we have a bunch spains here on board i would like to hear ur opinions.. u know any cheap hostels or similar?
want to take a holiday in spain but i dont want to spent much on living.. just a bed to sleep is enough! going to explore the mountains etc so i wont be at my appartment much anyways..

also, what about herb? easy to find on the streets? that is absolutely needed to fit the bill
i dont care where in spain, but has to be mainland.

weed is hard to come by in the summer in most of Spain, simply because most people grow outside and it's been 9 months since they harvested and it's basically all gone by then. Hash is readily available from any moroccan u run in to in any town in all of south Spain, year round.

In the winter Spain is flowing over with weed and you will find it easily in any town of a certain size. To ask for weed in spain if u dont speak the language, just make the international smoke signal (u know, 2 fingers to ur mouth pretending ur smoking)... You will find loads of Italians selling the stuff in bars in the popular tourist areas which isn't such a bad bet because they are there every day, attracting returning costomers is what their business relies on. Weed should cost you no more than €20 for a "big" bag, like 10-15 grams.

I did a trip last may in interrail all over Spain,so I can say in Barcellona you will find anything you need...if you don't know anyone it's easy to find someone deals,just talk,contract with him etc..etc...you will able to low the price.I found everykind of weed,indoor-outdoor,bourbuka,black hash etc...3-5 € for a good outdoor weed,7-10€ for a good indoor,bourbuka 8€ per grams...but I had a few contacts there...so take it easy.
For other place I did the same,talk,ask etc...if you have the ''eye'' it's very simple.
In Salamanca I had a bit difficulty to find any decent pot,but I already had before arrive there.
Madrid easy to find,Malaga very easy,especially good hash from Moroccans,just negotiate.

I went in Spain with my tent,alone.Here and there my friends gave me a couch to sleep,I used my tend a few times and I spent several nights in hostels.
I would say it's not so honest,I'm that kind of person wich prefer to stay one more day with less money,so I usually check different hostels price.I noticed,a lot of hosteliers and hoteliers,when I says:''ok,maybe I come back after'' recall me and low the price...this especially in Andalucia,like Malaga,Granada,Cordoba.so just try to negotiate if it's not high season,you know.I had a room for the half price in May in Sevilla.
Often Spain's hostals are not 4 or more people room with bathroom shared,but only a room with private or shared bathroom.

If you want to see and do great things on the mountains,go to Granada...not so far from there,there is the Sierra nevada,several high snowy mountains.Sky,snowboard,cycles,excursions depending of the period of the year,you know.Granada also it's a fuckin' beautiful place to spend some days,a lot of great and young people,The great Alhambra.....if all things are going to be good,in 3 months I move in Andalucia,probably in Granada.

Finally,I'm not Spanish,so this is only a little of my experience...Spanish people sure know more than me!

my advice is to use couchsurfing dot com. FAR better than paying to sleep somewhere and you get to meet loads of cool locals who will show you about for FREE and let you stay as long as you want for free too. i always used to use hostels (sometimes still do) but couchsurfing is the way forward for me now.


good luck theres heaps of nice hashish in spain so ya wont be stuck for smoke.

Treat yourself to a couple of nites at Nol's Place (external link), then go off into the hills and rough camp. If you leave Nol's without a nice stash to last the rest of your trip, you fucked up!

Ok, a little bit late maybe, but some interesting info i hope.

An interesting option visiting Spain are the "casas rurales", Country Houses giving profesional hostage, an hybrid hostel-bed&breakfast, in native country houses mainly in the countryside, but also near the urban areas etc...

Thousands of "casas rurales" all around Spain, prices are similar to medium quality urban hostels.

Also 2 or 3 half-secret cannabis friendly hostages exist...maybe another urban legend?

Hey...i´m living in spain and paying from 3-4 to 8-10 € per gram for good indoor buds ( bio, selectd strains form clones, etc.. ).

Maybe you are very lucky... or that weed you pay on 1-2€ x g. was a low quality massive outdoor shit from mafia, you know?

Just book a cheap hostel, for example from here. It doesn't matter how far it's if you can get to metro effortlessly.

And what comes to cannabis is that it's easily available. I got ~1,5g (± 0,2) bag of decent indoor bud for 20€ from La Ramblas, and it was a rip off. So personally I'd suggest you to familiarise yourself with the locals to get better deals as I could have had the same kind of bag for 8€.

Also the place, where you're buying, e.g. some small village vs. Barcelona, affects the price. As I'd get the kilo from a smaller place on the harvest time, or around the winter season in Catalonia.

I actually, accidentally, stumbled into this shop where the first words from the vendor was something like: "Sorry but we sell only for businessmen." So it isn't even hard there, haha.

I lived in Spain for 2 years, but I rarely bought any weed because I grew my own (and harvested at the sime time as the rest of Spain). But yeah, €20 for a big bag is definitely outdoor weed, a bit leafy and stalky, not seeded, but you can still find really good weed.

I bought a small bag of weed (4-5 grams) from a hydro store in Alicante once, and payed like €75 or €100. It was not much better than the outdoor weed, and I never did that again. I'll much rather spend €40 on a 10g caramello.

Stephen: Never been to Valencia, so can t help you there. But you could hop on a train to Alicante and go to Plaza del Carmen. You'll find numerous moroccans trying to sell you stuff - bring your bartering skills and make sure to ask for the primera quality. You'll only find hashish however. e: Just sit on one of the stones in the square and you will eventually be approached asking what you want - that's if you werent approached upon entering the square. You will be required to follow the pusher around a corner, since the square heavily surveiled.
