hey guys, took these clones about a week ago from some plants that were showing nute def/iron def/nit def issues, and am wondering if that's the reason some of their lower leaves have turned yellow? i put a tiny amount of seasol nuts in their spraying water and sprayed them with it once or twice today. hopefully that helps. plants since then have gotten healthy, the ones they were taken from. any help would be great. cheers

looks normal to me always happens to me just before my cuttings show roots

If they're under a good bit of light, that will make them yellow faster.

Give them a spary with some food, the best thing i ever did to my clones was start soaking the cubes in a small amount of food but before that i used to spray them with 3part GH at a PPM of 200 and a ratio of 1B 2M 3G, and 60mil penertrator / liter they love it,

Now i soak the cubes in a 400ppm food solution my clones always look perfect from cut till they are rooted and happily growing

i think they yellow because they already grew roots and not soaking up enough N

I agree Mrred, thats why i find soaking the cubes in food so benificial, as soon as the plant has even the tiniest bit of root, well before you see them it has access to everything it needs.

I get visible roots faster and much healthier clones now i soak the cubes in food. I still havent tried soaking them with a little B1 but i know people say it works well, i just get such good results its hard to try something new now.

so it's cool to feed the clones just not seedlings? well i've put a small amount of seasol nutes into each cube and washed it in with a little water. hopefully that gives them what they're after. cheers boys!

thanks row, yea i just soaked the stuff in tap water initially, didn't think they would be able to handle nutes, but if it works for you then mustn't be too bad an idea.

One thing though, you're leaving too many leaves on the clone and and the ones you do leave need to have the end clip. They turn yellow trying to use all the energy to keep those leaves alive. Same thing happens to clones under intense light..... they want to grow more leaves.... mkes for longer cloning in my experience. Lower light levels, higher heat helps in cloning but not crucial.

Check out Row's pic above..... should look like that with lower branches and leaves trimmed, and the upper most leaves, tips snipped. That way the plant can focus it's energy into making roots.

yeah i keep reading/hearing different views on it, i'll give it a go though and hopefully it helps. this yellow mayve occurred i believe because the plants that i took them from were nute def, so only way to fix that is by giving them some food.
