Jack Herer Passes Away

Before the '67 SOL there was Jack Herer. He started out at the Santa Monica Pier in 1959 with a card table passing out literature about hemp and cannabis.

He was the real deal. A man of integrity. A man of honor. A man of peace. A man who gave more of himself to others than he did to himself. He lived very, very frugally.

For those of you in and around Portland, Oregon you might want to drop by Jack's son's place of business and drop off a donation. The Herer's weren't in a very good financial situation so helping with the funeral costs might be a great way to pay tribute to Jack.

His son's business is "The Third Eye" in Southeast Portland on Hawthorne Blvd.

I wonder if all the smoking had an affect on his arteries... I hope this doesn't turn into a "pot death" for the crusaders to rally around.

Does anyone know if Jack liked salt, butter, or bacon? Did he have a few too many cheeseburgers? Chicken wings? Family history? I just hope and pray that his death doesn't counter his life.

RIP Mr. Herer

Wow. 71 years old. He fought for what he believed in and didn't back down. I have a lot of respect for that man. Famous among his supporters and peers. Infamous to his detractors and opponents.

R.I.P. :thank you:
