I have heard that a silk screen from art supply works. I would like to find a quality stainless steel screen. I don't want a huge roll either.

Most/all silk screen suppliers will carry stainless steel screens as they're used for production runs, i.e. 50,000+ units.

Not an issue really sourcing these types of screens. Automobile painting supply stores also carry filter screens that you may find acceptable. They come in several 'mesh' sizes.

Hasy1, I have seen people on the Inspirational Hash shots thread getting great results with a 190 screen. So id suggest getting as close to that as possible. That is what im going to do anyway. ;-)

After asking the same q's myself and doing alot of searching, I found most sites only offer the fabric itself, not pre-stretched screens.

If you'd like pre-stretched, quality screens in all various sizes and microns i'd check out this place:

http://www.standardscreen.com/woodframes.aspx

Take your pick of what size frame, and then select the mesh size you'd like to have applied to it.

Also, if you'd like to order multiple screens, this is an image of the actual Bubbleman screens you can order thru aqualabtechnologies.com or from fullmeltbubble.com. Figured you might wonna use the sizes just for reference.

You might only wanna grab two instead of three but why not go all the way and have some super pure refined kif that bubbles?

There's a place here that sells metal and fabric for screens... the prices were really reasonable.

I will be building a 6 foot folding banquet table with the top being a frame of maple with a screen pulled taught... the size of a screen door basically to trim over or sift large poundage of buds,

Really looking forward.

I'm also going to make some sifting kits with a choice of rare and highly figured woods. With dovetail joint.....

Trying to source a retail outlet to unload them when my first run is done. That way I don't have to compromise security,.

I can at least Say they will be the highest quality of any screens made today (I hope)

I am toying with the idea of cnc'ing some inlays

I got these and made my own (friggin dark cherry stained oak too!)

after 25 minutes of scanning the steel "wire cloth" at grainger

I got:

ITEM# 3AKR6....145X145 mesh...12"X12" size....opening size: 0.0047" = approx 121 micron
$6.36

ITEM# 3DLP8....200X200 mesh...12"X12" size....opening size: 0.0029" = approx 72 micron
$8.48

they sell MANY, MANY more mesh sizes, and overall screen sizes, you just have to check each one, hit specs, and check the "opening size" which will be in 1000's/inch>convert to microns and you know if your fat ass 100 micron size GDP heads will fit through the holes. (I got the smaller one first, and wondered why I had almost no yield with the GDP :D )

what mesh size is the 140 micron??

Sorry, I forgot to mention the common misconception between mesh and micron sizes.

I didn't realize at first that there even was a difference at all, but mesh and micron are like MPH and KM/H

A good conversion charts can be found here:

http://www.skylighter.com/fireworks/help/Mesh_to_Micron_Conversion_Chart.asp

http://www.showmegold.org/news/Mesh.htm

http://www.journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_mesh.html

Hope this helps. Def a little confusing, but its pretty straightforward.

I wish I could find a site like the previous one I posted in this thread that has prestretched screens with micron instead of mesh sizes. You could have full melt screens for a fraction of the cost of bubbleboxes and people would be less confused buying odd 'mesh' sizes IE you have to buy: 210 156 and 105 instead of 140 107 70 which in my head is alot more straightforward.

VERY VERY VERY VERY good post :thank you:

it gets even MORE confusing considering how TIGHT the screen is stretched (more so with fabric, than steel mesh), because THAT will increase/decrease the hole size depending on how tight you can get it. (or when it was assembled)

the above link with the pre-stretched screen printing frames is AWESOME,...I am going to order a set in a couple of weeks
:thank you: again.

:bongsmi:

Hey when ya do repost in here and let me know how they worked out for you. I was considering ordering from them because of how cheap and easy it is, just to replace my old screens.

Let me know how shipping went etc, but especially your final product!!

OH YEA

another quik update, i found another place that sells very inexpensive (and supposedly very efficient) kif boxes and just the screen as well

www.hazemaker.com

the boxes seem to be of nice quality, although the website is very simple and plain. noticed the ad in high times

Nice find bro. I've seen them before and agree that they are of good quality. Order just the screen if your on a budget :)

Metal is the best. Easy to clean and reuse for years if you want. Silk screen is much poorer quality imho.

Yankee Grower

Miami-Aquaculture for synthetic, Sefar for synthetic and stainless and Cleveland Wire Cloth and Anrod for stainless screens :)
