Landlord Inspection - Plant nearly done, worried about smell

Hey guys,

My landlord phoned today and said they would be conducting a flat inspection on thursday. They've never done this before, but it's part of a new policy they've been carrying out.

I have one scrogged plant growing in a cupboard inside a larger walk in closet attached to my bedroom. I live in a three bedroom apartment.

My growcab is stealthy, it just looks like a cupboard when the lights are off, but the fan extracting air through a carbon filter is noisy so i'd have to turn it off when they came round.

As such, I'm wondering what I should do regarding smell with the extracting fan off, because they may well look in the walk in closet that the growcab is in. Should I tape up the holes to keep the air in for a while? There are light leaks though so some air is definitely going to get out.

I have a pot of ona gel handy and I can buy air fresheners, but I was wondering if anyone else had any other suggestions? Any help would be dearly appreciated! The plant is in it's 11th week of flower and is seriously pungent atm =/

Thanks very much

light a stick of nag champa in the grow room and in living room, thrwo all ur dirty clothes over the cupbroard thingy maybe tape up any holes if ur worried about smell and make it look like a typical closet with dirty clothes ya know, never met a landlord that wantedto go rooting thru my day old socks lol. maybe call and ask if hes doing a "walkthru" or hes gettin in depth, just say ur gonna have your girlfriend over and he needs to be respectful of her as she mite be sleepin, maybe that cupboard is really the storage for her sexy lingere who knows? ur landlord is allowed to look but he cant go through your personal items. their probly just checking to see if youve messed up the apartment. if its that big of a concern, find a friend with a truck and get a dolly and move that cupboard into his truck and park it on the other side of hte complex and wait till night and move it back in. and if shes almost done and has been flushing could just chop'r down throw it in a garbage bag in the trunk of your car inside at trash can when he leaves gie it a few hours n go grab it and trim it up lol

Burn some popcorn in the microwave just before they get there and blame it on the kids.

Couldn't you just run a boxfan, radio, or TV. Heck In bet a window A/c would be about perfect. Cover the cabinet and the noise keep the scrubber running. My 2cents

Bake cookies and offer them some some fresh from the oven, or fry up some curry with garlic and onions, they won't smell SHIT over that.

For the future, get a damned carbon filter willya?

Seriously...cookies..that would work like a charm, and now I want to go make some. Realtors do that sometime just to make you happy and want to buy a house.

Play the radio just loud enough to drown the fan sound out. If your lights are on when he is there, turn them off. A few hours dark is not gonna mess them up.

That morning fry up some 1/2 lb bacon, saute onion & garlic then add 1lb hamburger & 1lb sausage.
In a crock pot add one large can of tomatoes, small can of tomato paste, one can of beans add spices and bacon and meat.
Simmer for the rest day on med. until after the inspection then enjoy a nice chili dinner.

11 weeks of 12/12 isn't even half way for some plants.

He's got one. That's the problem. Fans make noise when they're on and leak smell when they're not.

I vote with cab relocation (panel truck/van/U-Haul) and cooking something smelly. Baking bread will permeate the whole house and smells great.

OZIUM, it doesn't hide smells it gets rid of them. Spray a bunch let it work into the air and then air room out. spray cab with ozium and then put stuff over cab. Do not spray inside the cab would be the one thing I would reccomend against.

I've never had my closet inspected... lol... Just saying. I mean really, what do they need to see in there? Do you think they care whether or not you hang up your clothes? But if you're more into playing it safe, then I would by a jar of ONA. That stuff is great, and it's only $15-20. It covers up just about any smell as soon as you take off the lid.

thanks a lot for all the replies!

I'm probs being far too paranoid, but better safe than sorry. I think i'll just hang up some washing over cupboard and spray a load of air freshener before they come in, as well as put some bacon on. That should do the trick I think!

Thanks again all =)
