Power Company planned outage

Hello everyone. I have a problem and need suggestions on how to resolve.
In May the power company is planning on taking down the power in my area. Bastards! I am not the only one this happens to and I am trying to figure out the best way to solve.
My 12/12 light cycle is 9A-9P. The outage is 8A-4P.

Maybe a generator? Move the plants to a lighted room?

The problem is detection. I have spent ALOT of time and money on hiding my grow. Only my room mate knows that I have it and I want to keep it that way.

What to do? What to do? First, I'll smoke a bowl! Then on to the problem.

Why do you run your lights during the day? In most areas power is cheaper at night and temps are lower after sundown.

Anyway, back to your question, throw some LED lanterns in there that day and they'll keep your light cycle from getting screwed up.

If it was going to happen to me I would just let them be. Let the lights come on for the last 5 hrs of the cycle and forget it. If it's only one day I wouldn't think it will mess them up.

Yeah I would not move anything or get stressed it is just one day with less light.

I was living in the mountains had a huge blizzard roll through and kill the power for a few days. My girls sat in the dark the whole time they still turned out fine. No adverse effects.

I've survived a number of blackouts in the 10-13 hour area. While there are smell issues towards the end if the plants are flowering, a one time light glitch does no harm. I screw the lights 2-3 times a grow. Don't mean to, just life.

I've had similar experinces in the past. Just let the plants sit in darkness for a day, and start your light cycle back up when you know the power is on and going to stay on. Since it's dark, the plants don't know what's going on, they'll be fine. You might want to unplug some ballasts and whatnot, to insure against power spikes as the electric compny fools with things.

Excellent! I am overly cautious about jacking with lighting and this one threw me. So I will let them go that day. They will be almost ready to chop at that point anyway.

Lazyman,
I run my lights during the day so I can manage my plants during the day. I don't like to get up at night to water, train, or admire the girls. I have enough interuptions at night, and not the kind that I like. The difference in cost is not enough to add any inconvenience. Also, I am paranoid about introducing ANY light during the dark cycle. I am new to this hobby.

Thank you all for chiming in. I appreciate the advice.
