The Maryland Senate voted on Saturday to allow patients access to medical marijuana at state-licensed dispensaries. The bill now moves to the state's lower chamber.

The bill was approved overwhelmingly, with bipartisan support and without objections or discussion, by a 35-12 margin.

Can someone provide a link to the bill itself?

This is an amazing victory. Not even close. No objections, bipartisan support and not even a discussion!

It seems like politicians are getting the message that this is the time to be for medical marijuana.

With so many states voting on medical mj and legalization this year, cannabis supporters are going to be coming out like never before to vote. Those candidates who fall on the wrong side of this debate will probably lose the election...

So this year is the best chance we have for real change on the state and local, even national level (where we really need to see some change).

Let's hope it gets signed into law.

Getting closer to home. Surrounding states now is the time to write to all your representatives and tell them of Maryland's compassion for the sick and injured. And that Maryland will no longer consider the sick and injured criminals for using a medication that is natural and works for them.

Support is widespread in the House of Delegates as well and the bills are very similar. The Maryland General Assembly's session ends real soon, so I don't know if the House is going to hurry up and vote like the Senate did.

Great job Maryland!

Thanks Skip, I was wondering when someone was going to bring this up. And none too soon for me. Hopefully if I can just keep everything straight they'll hammer out the details by the end of the year and then it's really on.
