Harvesting time: Are we There Yet

Could someone take a look at this lady and tell me if she is ready. This is La Woman and I am a little shy of what they called for it to flower. When I started it on 12/12 she had been showing flowers for the better part of 2 weeks. She is at 6 weeks now and I see 90% milky trichs, very few amber ones. What do you all think. Thanks

isn't that a 9-10 week strain? My opinion, let it finish another 2 weeks or you make the call and cut it to what high you want from it.

If you plan on running this again, e.g, you have clones or will reveg, why not take samples at different stages of late flowering to see how the stone changes?

Based on the color of the hairs I would say no, but I never trust that entirely and will always bust out the microscope to be 100% sure.

There are a few things that I use to determine if the plant is done.

1) Color of the trichome heads. (clear, cloudy, amber)
2) Firmness of the buds themselves. Yes I touch my buds, I don't care if you are against it.
3)Maturity of the pistils (hairs). Have a majority of them turned red or brown?

It is a 9-10 week strain, you think it could go awhile longer then? I also screwed up it is at 7 weeks right now Thanks AcroPhobic
Ok then, its at 7 weeks so I still say another 2 weeks AT least BUT it depends on YOUR tastes in a high so it is up to you! Me, I'd wait till all mostly milky with 10-20% amber but thats how I roll!

You should take a daily photo of that same bud for comparison for the next 2 weeks. Kind of a time lapse. I think that would be a great help for questions just like yours. The ability to see the actual change from a week 7 plant to a week 9 or longer would be a great help.

:yeahthats
experienced growers use to say "when it looks ready, wait another week or two"......

AND :yeahthats

I use the "it's a 65-75 day strain" as a GUIDELINE, and use the scope, firmness, if I'm still getting pistil growth to determine "ripeness".

if it's a new strain (like my current run of chocolope), I'll harvest a couple early, most of em right on time, and let a couple go out to couch lock stage,...then keep them separate, and then judge after they are cured out

then NEXT run, you know EXACTLY when to chop em.

That's the best way to get the harvest time of a particular phenotype realy dialed in.........at one condition: don't forget to keep detailed written data about everything.........that jar contains buds harvested at that date, the effect was like that etc.........

New pics, Are we there yet

Going to update the pics as it goes along. Being my first med grow I am hoping for some of the more knowledgeable to help. Still have 90% milky trics very few amber. Don't want to go past the optimum stage. She's looking nice though.

Thanks for stopping by mexicangreen420 I have started the flushing process, I am using regular water that I let sit out with a bubbler in it. I use molasses also.
