Hi klouski welcome to IC,,,If you need any help round here dont be scared to ask, Sparkies come in very handy ill keep you in mind next time i need a question answered...

gidday klouski got a question for ya.

ive got some power outlets on 2 separate circuits, i want to RCD protect them.

My main breaker is 32A so a 40A RCD will suffice?

Can I use a single pole or do I have to use a two pole?

onefiftyfour, if you are just adding an RCD one that is rated at 40amps is fine, if you are replacing the existing breaker with an RCD/MCB get a 32amp one. If you are talking about RCD/MCB's which I think you must be as I have never heard of a single pole RCD, then the choice of single or 2 pole comes down to 2 things, cost and space. Both have active and neutral supplies and feeds, the "single pole" unit is refered to as such because it only takes up one module. So if you have the space for a 2 pole get one as they are cheaper, otherwise get a single pole.

Klouski, cobber digger blue. I only do 600w so don''t think I'll burn the house down. Any 240v electrical advice will always be appreciated for us non sparkies. I certainly don't want a 240v kick in the arse or a fire. Surviving bushfires is enough of an issue in NE Victoria. Good to see another tradesman on board.

AN Electrician would be the best person to ask why some growers use Three phase power systems? It seems the question was erased. So spill lecky.Thanks.

Where I am you can plant outdoors from about mid October. I grow an indica dominant strain which finishes outdoors late March. No idea what the strain is. I've kept the mums for years and do clone only grows. The plants are grown at 5000' and thrive.

Winter is not a problem.

Then we crank up the hydro and move indoors, SOG style.

If you go with the overseas seed thing I would suggest purchasing feminized seeds unless you want to embark on a breeding project requiring males and females of various hybrids.

Feminized seeds seem pretty reliable.

Clone these plants before flowering for mums.

Get comfortable with producing clones.

Maintain the mums and you have guaranteed female clones on every run.

Mind you, I hate dealing with seeds.

hi, yeh leave the 100a in. It acts as a "main switch". if i were u id change the 25a to a 16a, because your rcd is only rated to 40a, and if u add up your breakers, the 10, 16 and 25 it equalls 52a, in the unlikley event that you are drawing full current on your circuits your rcd will fail. Its kinda hard to explain but hopefully u understand what im trying to say. if not just ask again and il try explain it as simple as i can. good luck
