How often do you clean/replace your gallon jugs?

i have actually been thinking this myself, i usually keep mine for a couple waterings, but if i could clean them and just use the same one it would be a lot better since i could save some scratch, and also it would be better for the environment!! haha gotta be green in every way we can.

Just washed mine, but its just a 2 gal container that I mix nutes in. MY tap water is shit so I have to mess with it, especailly after adding certian nutes! I just enjoy a clean grow area!

I just clean my shit with a sponge and some dish soap and rinse thoroughly. Never had a problem?

i just fill them about 1/4 way with hot hot hot tap water and shake, dump it and mix the new solution. when the plastic starts to get a brownish tint to it, i toss it in the recycle bin and use a new one.

Yeah that^^ Im going on 6 months on the some 3 1gallon jugs. I just rinse real good and set them upside down in my coset to drip dry. theres no smell or any discoloration so why waste plastic!

I have about 30 to 50 gallon milk jugs and many are over 5 years old I believe. Never cleaned them in the sense of cleaning them BUT each time I add new water or nutes to it I run some warm water, cap it, shake it, let it drain and repeat. To me thats clean enough especially since the only stuff in it is water and or nute mix.

I give them a scrub with a brush every few weeks but that's about it. Never had a disease/pest issues that would be spread by them so never saw the need.

I use a pair of 5gal containers for concentrated nutrient mixes. They get rinsed every few months with plain water. Whenever the mood strikes, really.
