All thanks go to MyNameStitch and I hope she dosen't mind that I took this from her thread.

Well I had the exact same problem last grow. It usually effects a couple of plants. Last time I thought it was a ph lock. Played with the PH but could get it figured out. I was in the low 5's after run off last time. Haven't checked it yet. Should it be 6.8? I buy the water from a local R/O machine. I know the water typically is hard. I clogged my R/O in one month flat. I hope someone can shed some light before it gets to the point of no return. I just finished off a terrible grow, anything that could go wrong, did. Even a hermie that I didn't catch on the bottom branch. I refuse not to learn from my mistakes. Please help. I asked the guy at the hydro store if he had some cal and mag. He said with the soil I have I shouldn't need it. I do have a super skunk that is doing the same thing so I don't think it strain specific.
Thanks for your help.

Well good question. I have been using the Dyna-Gro for cloning and the shit is amazing. Never looked into growing nutes.

Sounds awesome. The rooting gel and KLM are dirt cheap and work great. I usally foilare feed with magic green. I'm a grow room builder so I get the deep discount from the local shops. I ran advanced last grow and burned my plants so bad I thought they were going to self combust into flames. Do you find the feed schedule for Dyna Gro is pretty accurate within reason. I can probably score some of this for free. Still not sure if it will solve my problem. I had the same problem with the advanced line. I really think it has something to do with the RO and something being clearly deficient.

DUDE !!!!! WHY ARE YOU USING GH?????

I didn't even need to finish reading the whole thing. Get away from the fucking GH garbage. It is not complete with all 16 essential nutrients. Pitch all that bullshit. Keep your nectar if you want and your rare earth or whatever its called but throw that 3 part in the fucking trash. Go to the shop and get some Dyna Gro. It is a one part system. One for veg, one for flowering. It has all 16 essential nutrients. It will fix your current deficiency and you will see better growth than ever. Stop trying to fix a broken system. Its in three parts because they couldnt figure out how to get it into one. Dyna gro has figured out how to get absolutely everything into a one part and it is incredible. Guaranteed to fix your problems or I will buy you a new bottle of your GH garbage!! Get Grow, Bloom, Pro-TeKt, and Mag-Pro and watch your plants thrive.

Apologies for somewhat side tracking the thread, but I have to ask why so many people have had success using the GH 3-part if it wasn't sufficient? I'm not doubting your post, just looking for more information. As a first time grower, this is absolutely crucial!

I had the same yellowing on my last soil grow with "Roots Organic". I now amend my roots organic soil with 1 cup/cf of soil of powdered dolomite lime and about 2 more part of perlite and EWC. Basically, I just used the roots organic as a base medium as set forth in the lc#2 mix and added the stuff as if it wasn't in the product. I think the label is misleading as it may contain lime, greensand, EWC etc, but for sure not in the right ratios. I still use this soil (after I amend it) for cloning my cuts straight into the soil (I still have 6 bags to use up). After veg though, I've gone to LC's #2 as set forth on the "Organic for beginners" thread with sunshine #4. What I am saying I guess, is that even though it says it has dolomite lime in the soil, it just does not have the correct ratio.

I helped my last grow of straight Root's organic soil grow by using a spoon and making a moat around the plant about 1.5 inches deeps and sprinkling about 3 or 4 tablespoons of dolomite into the moat and covering it up. It took about 3 weeks to even things out for me. Next time mix the lime into the soil as per the directions on the thread stated above and let it "ripen" in a container for a month or so before use.

My opinion only.

Hey Doradoguy,

Your yellowing leaves and slight red stem show signs of Nitrogen lockout. The yellow leaf tipped plants show signs of over fertilizing.

I think you have way too many chemicals being mixed together, it's creating excess salt buildup in your soil, and locking out nutrients.. Plus you are mixing Organic fertilizer with Chemical fertilizer, which basically is counterproductive as chem fertz are immediately taken up by the plant, whether it wants it or not, while the organics are broken down by the soil microbiology and assimilated when the plant needs it.. and on top of that, you are feeding what was once "organic" soil, hydroponic chemical nutes.. which kills off most of the beneficial bacteria in your soil which feed the MJ plant the organic food.

Also, your PH is way high, For hydroponics ideal ph is 5.8, for soil it is 6.5. Since you are using hydroponic solution for a soil grow, it's very confusing what to go off of, but between those ranges should be a great ph for you.

Keep it simple and perhaps simplify your feeding routine. Flush your plants with 3 gallons of water per 1 gallon of soil, and make sure the water is ph balanced first, probably around 6 is good. You want to flush out all the crap that's built up in your soil.

You really need to take a ph test of the soil, and a ph test of the hydro solution you are mixing.. to get an idea of how to properly dose your plants.

Best of luck man, and PM me when you get 50 posts, I have a great opportunity for you to consider.

Peace bro :joint:

RESINvention,
Thanks for the input. I'm going to check the water run off today. After this run with soil, I'm building a under current hydro set up. I flushed a couple pots the other night trying to see if that helps. Fun Fun Fun.
