Air king clip fan???

anyone using the 6 inch air king clip on fans? i have some generic 10 dollar ones, they are kind of weak, i need more power to move the heat of the light and the air kings seem like the best 6 inch clip fans, but at over 20 usd a fan i want to make sure its good enough to make a difference and keep a good air flow across my tops

Yes, yes. Inquiring minds want to know!

I'm looking at buying a 9" clip on fan but have the same question.

6'' clip ons wil pretty much move the same ammount of air.

Air kings are way OVERPRICED for me $22 for a 6'' clip on!!

Id rather get 3 cheaper ones and replace them after 4 cycles.

Ive been using cheap RE fans from wally world 24/7 for 8 months STRAIGHT, they are now finally loosing power. I paid $5 ea for those.

Going to pick up a few more tonight i fact.

My flower room where I installed them is 5' x 5'x 8' and they were mounted on the ceiling to blow down on the canopy. I have the air deal from the floor moving up and I thought that these might be a viable addition.

No big deal - it wasn't much money and education is never inexpensive is it?

Well, isn't built yet but my space will be 3x3x7. I'm thinking they would be ok for that size space right?

Yes they would work well though I wouldn't mount them on the ceiling like I did.

Perhaps about 3' from the floor would be better for your situation.

I'd probably opt for at least 2 fans for the space you described.

Here is the ticket micro growers...

They have black oscilating clip fans at Frys for around 15 $...same price range as an Air King and it moves...stationary fans are less desirable.

I have a 6inch Air King clip-on.

It purpose was supposed to be to clip-on to the poles of my GL120... but that didn't work, the grip always slid down.

I still use it, just jury-rigged.

It took me a few days to track down this fan that I thought you (and perhaps others) might find worthy of checking out.

The fan is from a company called WindChaser and this particular model (Model WCH3IRO) is a column fan which can also be turned and used vertically.

Here's a photo from their catalog page:

They're under $80.00 at Amazon.com

Just another option perhaps.

I've noticed metal bladed fans move much more air than plastic bladed ones, and also removing the grill will help improve the airflow some.

Also, whatever fan you get, clean the blades every 3 months or so, buildup on the leading edge will drastically reduce their performance.

I've also been looking at using the Lasko Air Stik.
It's pretty compact but would have to be used horizontally unless you rigged something interesting up.
You can find it elsewhere on Amazon or at Target.com for $20.

Try a search for vornado clip fan. I've used their larger fans around the house with good results. I think they may put out a good clip fan too. Never tried though.

I've used the Lasko Air Stiks, the plastic squeaked when they oscillated and they burned out in a year. The Holmes Blizzard fans are loud and they burned out in a year. I'm surprised how hard it is to find a decent fan. Those windchasers that Cloot posted look interesting.

Those mini fans burn out quickly. Tower fans work fine,if the blades get out of balance it will make noise.Table fans dollar for dollar are the most economical/durable.
