Mandala's Satori and Mr. Nice Shit-Hempy and Organics

Greetings everybody!

I am currently growing out some Mandala Satori

and some Mr. Nice Shit

Started to germinate Sunday the 21st, by Saturday the 27th all had popped in paper towels then placed in mini hempy cups then given light once the plants emerge from the soil less medium. All plantlets are looking healthy right now. I popped 9 seeds total, 5 shit and 4 Satori.

In due time I will clone and sex all of the plants, probably keeping a copy of my entire stock in order to make some seeds down the road. My current guess-timates place complete sexed plants by the first week of May. From there I will veg them out and eventually they will be placed in a DR80 or similar sized wood cabinet with a 250 watt CMH. From there I hope of having some fine finished product by around September 1st. But I'm getting way ahead of myself!

Just a little info about my space:
2' x 1' floor space using daylight and cool white compact fluorescents with 46w right now, will eventually step up to 69w then eventually 96w. From there I will eventually upgrade to T5's with a Fulham ballast. I exhaust the box with a 120 mm computer fan with a speed control.I use bubble cloners made of Ziploc containers using air stones and a 10 gallon pump.

I'm currently using hempy buckets to grow out all of the seeds, with the intent of having my final garden 50% organic in soil and the other half with hempy buckets.

Thanks for stopping by, any comments are more than welcome and appreciated!!

Hi HolyMountain, your off to a good start.

Those satoris will get much bigger than the shits, so you might want to bloom them earlier than the shits cause they will stretch more.

Your timing is about perfect for an outdoor grow, those satori's would do great outside and would yield much more than in your cab.

I've got some seedlings that size right now that will go outside around mid june or so. I've got Haze Special that are at the cotyledon stage but none of the mango's have broken the surface yet. :frown: I just planted them last thursday, so not too worried yet.

I'll be watching.

Is this your first grow?

Update

Update

Well, I added in the third 23 w cfl with a total of 69 watts in my box.

Everybody is looking pretty happy right now:

--In order to see which plants are which, check the individual picture captions.

Sam the Caveman: Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the words of encouragement. I was thinking of putting the Satori's in a bit earlier anyways because of their slightly extended flowering time. An outdoor grow would be especially appealing to me but I'm afraid I don't know of many viable spots for growing. I will still attempt to find a couple spots outside once all the plants are sexed and then hopefully I can return later this year and reap some benefits. I'm not really familiar with the weather patterns enough to know that my latitude of 43-44 degrees will suffice for Satori though. That haze sounds delightful--I'm sorry to hear about your Mango's, but I'm sure they will eventually pop up! :good::plant grow:
This isn't my first grow as I've grown out clones and sexed bagseed for females, but let's just say that this is my first grow using proper genetics, lighting, and equipment. This is my first time in hempy buckets instead of soil too, so that is also adding another dimension to my grow!

Thanks for stopping by--may your garden stay ever green!

Update

Well, unfortunately I was away for the weekend (left Friday, returned late Sunday) and subsequently wasn't able to aptly care for my plants. The majority are doing well but some are showing what I suspect to be deficiencies because of either pH lockout or too high of a salt content requiring a flush.:yoinks::dunno:

The Satori's:

The Shit's:

I started at 1/3 nute strength and worked my way steadily up to almost full strength (using BC Nutrients--Grow and Boost with CalMag pH'ed to 5.8-6). I haven't flushed the plants yet but will probably begin that routine (from what I've read one must flush hempy buckets with pH'ed water every two weeks to get rid of salt buildup?)

The show should get a bit more interesting once they get big enough for me to take clones and such, but until then thanks for stopping by everybody!

May your garden stay ever-green,

Sayan, thanks for stopping by and thanks for the luck! Enjoy the show and make sure you are a regular around here!:tiphat:

In addition, I have a bit of an update--some of the leaves turned off-color because of most likely overfert, I was a bit too hasty with my introduction of higher concentration nutes. Either way, the plants are bouncing back now and should be back to normal in a day or two.

Another update:

Mr. Nice Shit

Mandala Satori

The plants are steadily growing now, I'm very happy with them as of right now. Some are showing some deficiencies but they are now getting to a relatively steady feed schedule.

Now it's just a waiting game:blowbubbles::blowbubbles: until I clone and sex the little ladies and gents.:dance:

Thanks for stopping by everybody, may your garden stay every green,:tiphat:

Update v 2.0

Update v 2.0

Well, considering I'm a new member I have limits on how many pictures I can upload, so I can only show 4 of my 9 plants.

HolyMountain-->:pointlaug

Well I suppose that is part of being a new member, so I just have to accept it for the time being!:blowbubbles: :ying:
The Shits: (Shit 1-4)

As you can see a few of the Shits got a bit of a hair cut, I have 3 wee clones in the bubble cloner in a separate box (increases my ability to control environment).

All the plants are relatively healthy as you can see, they all need a good dose of nutes that they will get tomorrow. I did not want to overfertilize the smaller Satori's that were running behind their Shit counterparts, that's why the plants are showing some bad deficiencies for the time being. Additionally, I re-potted 4 of the Shits into larger containers (large party cups).

Well cheers everybody:tiphat:

Update

Hello everybody,

A bit of an update on everything.

The Shits:

The Satoris:

Everything is according to plan, the clones are a bit stubborn right now (the first three are on day 8 with no signs, and there are four other ones on day 5). I've also noticed some powdery mildew on the lower leaves of some of my branches--nothing too tremendous but obviously I'll want to get that under control as soon as possible.

Some meds I'm working on right now--nothing too special:
:canabis:

Thanks for stopping by everybody, may your garden stay ever green,

boz Thanks for stopping by mate'

ibjamming That picture looks downright delectable! I can't wait for the Satori smoke!

Something I have on deck right now: I may have access to some CannaCopia Deep Chunk x C99 seeds within a week or so, if not by next week Monday then by the second week of May. I will also be able to get some Mr. Nice seeds by the end of May--I will not flower them out though until the Shit and Satori are fully harvested (or until I step up to a separate 400w cab).
So far the list looks like this: (1) Mango x Widow (2) Super Silver Haze (A personal favorite of mine from my travels to Haarlem and Amsterdam) and (3) Medicine Man. Looking forward to having some great strains on hand.

May your garden stay ever green,

Update

Update

Howdy everybody :tiphat:

Well it's been a while since my last update, so here goes! :bump:

The Shit:

FYI Shit 5 is in the orango soda bottle :shucks:

The Satori:

Well the plants are healthy, clones of Shit 1, 2, and 4 have fully rooted and are just gaining in size a bit. All the others are lagging a bit but I don't anticipate they will be too much longer. I've been training/pruning the plants lately. I'm pretty happy with the majority of the plants, I'm topping and bonsai-ing the plants so I'll be able to take a bunch of clones.:dance013:

I should have fully rooted clones of all of the plants by next Wednesday--which will actually be a moving day to a more permanent site. By next Thursday I anticipate throwing the rooted clones into 12/12 to determine sex. For right now I'm going to get rid of the male plants (but still keep cuts of them in case I ever want to make some seeds), while keeping the females on hand. It's been two weeks since the last flush, so tomorrow I will flush again. All is going pretty swell--I'm a bit behind because cloning is taking a bit longer than expected, but I'm still hoping to know sex by end of May and start the final flowering of my chicka's around June 1st.

Thanks for stopping by!
May your garden stay ever green,:tiphat:

Thanks so much hippie_lettuce! I haven't gotten the powdery mildew under control as of yet, but that is merely because of human error--basically I ran out of neem oil last week. Considering my location (currently, or at least until the move next Wednesday)is way out in the sticks, I don't have access to garden stores or even big box stores.
I had some left over need oil that I was spraying them with but ran out after a day or two of use; I hope that it was enough of a shot to put the PM at bay until the move, at which point I will promptly buy some more neem oil and continue to purge it from my garden. The PM is still apparent on a few select limbs of the plant, but it seems to be a only a small problem for the time being. Thanks again for stopping by hippie_lettuce!

Update

Well I sort of dropped off of the map for a week or twos time. In this week I saw a move of a couple hundred miles in addition to a couple minor road bumps in my plan.

Basically I gave away my 4 Satori plants to a friend who was in greater need than I, and now I'm focusing on the 5 Shit I sprouted. I still will have access to the cuts of Satori, and my friend will continue to sex the plants once he has an adequate flower space.

With the move came added security, so instead of the 250w CMH, I will actually be stepping up to a 400w CMH! :dance013: I also stepped up from a DR80 to an HTG Supply grow tent(the 40" x 40" x 76" model) and with it a Can 33 and an S&P TD-150 mixed-fan.

At about 11:00 p.m. last night I ordered all the stuff listed above, so I'm hoping it'll be shipped and here by next week. Fortunately enough all the stuff is being delivered to a safe addy too, so no additional worries. I have a bunch of stuff lying around here, I'm thinking of doing a simple organic veg mix of 5-1-1 Fish Emulsion and 0-0-1 Maxicrop liquid seaweed. I already have a bunch of dolomite lime, earthworm castings, and perlite, so all I need to get is some Ocean Forest soil. I'm also thinking of potentially getting some Light Warrior to temper the Ocean Forest at a 1:1 ratio. My recipe is ripped off of the Simple Organics Recipe.

3 parts OF, 3 parts LW
2 parts perlite, 2 parts earthworm castings
powdered dolomite lime @ 2tbsp. per gallon

without further adieu, the Shits:
