BUBBLEGUM 1996

Its been 13 years since I have seen the original bubblegum from Holland. I have heard it has been so cross-bred, that the bubblegum has been lost. Anyone heard of where someone might be able to find that?

I live where bubblegum was first developed and we smoked it here for several years before it made its way from here to holland and california. Its still around here in its original form. I have seeds in my freezer from the first or second year of its birth.

currently, the only place available to get the original bubblegum is through TH seeds. The serious seeds offering is bubblegum in name only and has NO similarities to the original strain. Serious seeds Bubblegum may be potent and may be a good strain and it does originate from the original strain, but it has been crossed with a sativa plant and has a "up" high.. Original Bubblegum has a narcotic indica buzz/ slightly euphoric. The plant is consistent, medium sized and some pheno's have a minty or bubblegum scent and flavor.

Thseeds is it.

I smoked some Bubbledust from Growdoc, and even though its been crossed with something i think, its still close to bgum in effect and is very good.

I believe that bog used a bgum strain in his crosses that came in a round about way from the original and not from the serious offering, so it might retain many original bg genes but im not positive.

Got and germed 20 seeds from Serious in two different batches in 3 years.
Very consistent and uniform. Same kind of plants for the two packs. One from 2001 an one from 2004.
Found a couple of keepers. Very fruity and indica as smell, taste and apparence.
Tasty, potent smoke both indoor/outdoor.
Best smoked together with a warm cup of bitter tea. Wonderful. Really suggested!
Never tried TH version, next on the list.

I don't have experience with "original" BG, but I'm currently growing Serious BG, and it looks awesome!

Dunno about that (haven't grown TH), but have you actually grown Serious BG?
It was my first proper grow, and it really encouraged me to continue.
Huge beautiful indica-style buds (from CFLs, to boot) and amazing proper pink bubblegum smell.
Stone was quite narcotic, though it had aeuphoric up element too. I prefer it that way, can't see why you wouldn't want euphoria in weed like this.

Given all that, I think it may be a bit extreme to say it "NO similarities to the original", especially since the main thing (bubblegum aroma) is right there, full on.

@eddie: Hi mate, hope you're keeping well!

Youre right Gertlush, its incorrect to say there were no similarities. There are some. There are also some differences. I live in Kentucky. Idiana is accross the river and i know well the bubbleguum thats been round here for years. I havent grown the serious strain but a neighbor grew it out. The plants were different than the strain that we know here in that they had considerable stretch and tried to grow tall and slender. The high was more balanced but was nice. The plants were exceptional and the weed was tasty and potent. Good stuff and in fact he kept a mother from the grow it was so good, but it wasnt the bb plant thats been around here forever.

One cant distinguish between the plants or the high in plants grown from local seeds and those from TH seeds.

I think WL came from TH seeds stock.

Thanks for the clarification D.S.
I wonder if it varies from batch to batch, because the Serious BG I grew had minimal stretch on it.

I must say it's nice to know that the original Hoosier stuff is still around!
So much gets lost in the "new craze" melee!

Look after it, folks... ;)
