very nice grow dave!
im planning on doing edd soon also and had a few questions,

why do you grow with growcubes? or lava rocks? are those better than hydroton?
do you wash them the same way? easier to clean?

i see you also lifted all the buckets about 1" off ground.
does its really do much difference if you just leave it on the ground? does drain better that way?

Ok...here are a few shots to give you an look at the setup.

Everything except the plants and control bucket is outside the room. I have 2 systems, so I have 2 barrels. I use one to top off the other...that way I always have RO'd water ready to use. Mt ballasts are outside the room, I drilled small hole in the sheetrok to push the wires thru.

I use Sunleaves Rocks. Hydroton is round and has no place for water to "pool" between watering cycles. With all the odd shapes, these rocks really help with root growth.

As far as washing or cleaning...I never so...I always start with new medium that I rinse...:tiphat:

Dave everything's lookin real good man. As for the camera try the white balance for the lighting and macro setting for close ups.

Day 15...the girls are really healthy...one thing for sure, never again multiple strains...my canopy is 6" lower on the WW side...thinking about adding a light and splitting them into two groups. We'll see how it goes. The last few are shots of individula plants that I LST'd.

Lovin the shots Dave the ladies are coming along real nice. I love looking at your behind the scenes set up. Much props man.

Not sure if I asked you but why parabolics and not those adjust a wings? I've never seen the wings used in any journal I've read.

A good buddy of mine really liked em, so I decided to give em a try... They really work well too....it seems I have quite a bit larger footprint than I have seen with the conventional hoods

lookin good dave, whats your strategy for support? soon your gonna have colas everywhere

Yea...I have plenty of 5ft bamboo poles...as well as plenty of string and nails to tie them to the ceiling or hhigh up on the wall. They all seem to be quite sturdy at this time tho....

the reason i say this is because i see a lot of e&G users who run a trellis or net, they arent able to get to the back of the room and if something goes down then its a loss. Big advocate of tomato cages, next run try an LST job with a cage

That is exactly what I have planned...The Snow White strain is supposed to grow to a "medium" height, Which I am assuming (hoping) is about 4-5 ft. so tomato cages would be perfect.

Thanks for stopping by and check out the soil grow...posted new pics there as well!!

looking good bro. this is about the time we go threw and clean out any biuldup inside the buckets ie bad bacteria's, sugar biuldups, ect. we also put in 3inch pvc blocks into the outside buckets to let the roots have more space to grow. I'm a fan of the tomato cage idea and am just waiting for them to come into season around hear so stores start stocking them. some friends of mine are using a wire grid that is used to pre-stress conctrete walls and roads. it has 4x4 squares and comes in 4x8 sheets. so i might have to check that out too.

I change the res every 10 days in flower...with a cpl flush cycles before they get fresh nutes...I raised them today....

wow you are hard at work!!! 2 gardens at once good stuff

Well I sort of "inherited" the soil grow. It belongs to a 70+ yr old friend of mine and he let it get to be too much for him to handle. It's in his basement, we carry gallons of water downstairs (you should see it, an old fart and a guy with a messed up back) He just did not understand how the varying strains would mess him up, as well as the fact that he vegged for 2 months. I have been fighting that garden since I forced him into flowering it. I don't mind helping him tho...he is a great guy...:ying:
