Senator Barbara Boxer Opposes Legalizing Marijuana in California

I

ijimunot

Sounds to me if you restrict organized crimes cash flow it will effect the good senators cash flow.
The people in her district have to write and tell her how they feel about her views. They must convince her that she represents and works for them. Its we the people not I the senator. Medical Marijuana has been legal in California for some time. Cannabis use by minors is down. There has been no increase in the crime rate or accidents caused by people dropping there roaches. She needs to be educated by the people then the people must go to the poles and vote in the next election.

I would say 95% of politicians are narcissists to begin with; so they always think in terms of 'I', and not in the proper terms of 'we the people', which is why they were elected in the first place...

these idiots think they are some sort of royalty...

they need to step-off that cloud.

why can't you file criminal charges against politicians who insist in feeding the black-market in the U.S?

it is obvious why they do it, and it is a crime against the people.

Let's clear something up for the mathematically challenged: 25 Square feet is 5X5. This is the exact space of my garden. I can pump out 25-30 plants in 1 gallon containers if I wanted to jam them in there, or 12 good sized plants (2-3 oz) in 3 gallon pots under a 1000 watts with a one month veg period in coco. Definitely more than a person can smoke themselves.....

If they kick my door in and measure my garden, how is that legalization?

Tomatoes are legal in CA so are strawberries, not 25sq' of tomatoes.

This is just a fucking power grab by corporatist. You are quite upset and if you want to imprison someone for having 26sq', who is the evil one?

Hmmmm, my garden is 250sq' under a hundred plants and I live in a state where possession is a misdemeanor and there is NO, ZERO, ZILCH, NADA laws about cultivation. Just as there are no laws prohibiting tomato growing in my state.

So why would you vote to make a criminal out of a farmer? Is it because that is the right and moral thing to do? It must be because you are smart enough to know who is human waste.

I personally would not vote for an immoral law that would make felons of my neighbors for growing weed if that is what they chose. I am only a small soldier in this fight with 250sq'

If you prefer version B of slavery over version A then you are still approving slavery. I am free and I think freely, I will continue to grow freely, and I will learn on ICmag (even if not from your posts).

Peace, :joint:

apples and oranges

as it sits in california right now
"Cultivation
Any amount (exception for patients or caregivers) felony 16 - 36 months"
http://norml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID=4525

so the proposed law would turn felons into legal growers...
not turn legal growers into felons as you stated...

spin all you like friend...

truth is... this bill will LEGALIZE FELONS!!!

you would have them remain felons...

who is advocating slavery?

id rather have a 25²' grow than no grow...

and med patients are left as they are...

tell me again how is this bill bad?

tell me again how is this bill bad?

It allows some assclowns a warehouse and you and I can go fuck ourselves with 25sq'. How is that equal justice for all?

Discrimination is wrong and immoral and this bill is using people like you to create a multi-cast system for the benefit of the bills authors. No Californian should be better than any other, except some animals are more equal than others ;)

The bill's not perfect. We know that.
But it's better than the current situation!
Of that there is no doubt.
It's a single step of a long journey.
Once there is any kind of legalization, the stigma of criminality will be gone.
Leo's not going to bother trying to enforce unenforcable laws. They are not going to go around checking everyone's grow. As long as you don't get greedy, you will be alright in this system.
Some of you just don't get it:
WE NEED TO STOP LOCKING PEOPLE UP FOR HERB!!!!!!!!!

so you think the current laws are not discriminatory?

sorry but your dead wrong here...

the current law is EXTREMELY discriminatory..

as far as your "assclowns" in "warehouses"..

can you show me what language you are referring to?

http://www.lao.ca.gov/ballot/2009/090512.aspx

The current laws regarding MJ are unjust and I disobey them as Mr. Jefferson said all men are obligated to do.

Check Skips posts in this thread about commercial ops for the gang of four.

As I said I don't live in CA and what I have read about the bill lead me two believe that not everyone will be limited to 25sq' just us in the lower cast.

If I am wrong and EVERY Californian would be allowed 25sq' and NO Californian would have special treatment, then I will withdraw my opposition; however I think some Californians are more equal than others.

I doubt these assclowns spent millions of dollars for 5x5 tents, but I've been wrong before.

Now you tell me will EVERY single Californian be limited to 5x5 or just the commoners?

"However, the measure permits local authorities to authorize the possession and cultivation, including commercial production, of larger amounts of marijuana."

There it is, the connected few get permits the rest of us get fucked.

what stops you or your neighbor from getting a business license for cannabis and going commercial exactly?

there is no conspiracy here.....

just like any other business get a license and follow the rules...

$5000.00 and a background check and you are licensed.

do you distill your own liquor?

best link to the bill...

commercial licenses will cost 5k and you cant have any prior felonies for drugs...

thats easier than getting a liquor license ffs!

If authorities MAY issue a license to you for $5K, but is free to deny to others who have $5k and no felonies; then our freedoms are not being protected they are at the whim of an immoral bureaucracy and government.

No one should have to ask to use their own property as they see fit.

It is funny as hell to see someone try to argue about CA's business environment, it is one of the LEAST free-market state governments in the USA.

25401. (a) The department shall license commercial cultivators

(b) Regulations adopted by the department pursuant to this

The bill you are quoting dagnabit is not the gang of fours initiative that hydrosun is referring to. The bill you are linking to doesn't have a chance in hell of passing that's Ammiano's bill. The only thing that might pass is the initiative.

The gang of four is well connected in Oakland and will surely get permits. The question is will other towns/cities allow anything at all other than the 5x5 everybody gets... Also how hard will it be to get a permit/license to go bigger for your average schmuck?

But shit I'd pay $5K year one $2.5K years 2 - x, but I just imagine any CA businessman who signs up for this will have DEA storm troopers well before year two.

Not so smart to register as a super felon looking at 5+ years imprisonment from loving uncle Sam.

i suppose there is the bigger issue of 'completely equal', which seldom is realized
but how many need more than 5x5? i'm sure they're out there, again it's not perfect
god i'd love to have this problem in NY, only 5x5, however would i get by?

I dunno Im all for legalization, but I think It will help the cartels. If they can get weed in legally it will be a lot less harder to transport around the country

You need to think before you type. This is for California ONLY. You won't even be able to bring it across state lines legally let alone from another country. This is the kind of misinformation that confuses voters and they end up voting the wrong way. Get your facts straight folks.

The easiest way to take care of this Liberal Politician is to vote her fat ass out of office. Instead of boycotting Starbucks, lets boycott stupid politicians that can't think for themselves or form an opinion without a poll. Fuck her. Vote her in as dogcatcher. Maybe she'll realize that she works for us and not the other way around.

I can't believe you guys can't see what's going on here. A LIBERAL POLITICIAN. Recently the SCOTUS ruled that corporations have the same status as individuals and have the same rights. Therefore they are pouring loads of money into the anti-cannabis campaign. They start off by buying politicians. The only way a liberal would do something like this is to get paid to do it. It's just now starting and we are going to see more and more anti-drug commercials, repeals and reforms on MM legislation in the states that allow it (we're seeing that now in Michigan and Colorado), and tougher drug laws will be reimplemented. The will of the people are being circumvented in regard to MM and the Corporate entities along with OUR politicians couldn't give a rat's ass. They just want to stomp out the legalization effort, nip it in the bud to maintain the status quo. OR. Position themselves to be the only ones that can offer a Cannabis product once they get everything in place to control the market.

We need to get organized. There are millions of us that use Cannabis for medical and recreational reasons. This has got to stop before it's too late. How many more us are going to rot in jail before this inhumane and unconstitutional prohibition is abolished? It has been a racist campaign since its inception and like all evil must be torn down. If we don't do something now, we are going to lose everything we've fought for over the years.
