leaves curling up

My plants are 10 days old and leaves are curling up more like folding up inwards like a taco. My temps are low 70's ph is 5.8-6.0 ppm is 600 under 1k hps RH is 40%. Using 3 part Gh for veg then switching to lucas for bloom. Exhausting room every 45 mins with 10 inch max fan for 20 mins.

I posted a few days ago about this white fuzz growing on my roots it's visable between the mini rockwool cube and the big rockwool cube. Was told it's normal now i'm wondering if it's some type of fungas. I'm unable to load a pic from this dam iphone says image is to big ....WTF so i can't even show what it looks like.

There's no way to change res on iphone . I'm using 6 inch RW on top of mini crutons top feed 3 times a day. I know pictures would help but i have no other camera source any ideas? If more info is needed let me know, Other than the leaves curling they seem to be growing fine for only 10 days. Anybody else uploaded any pics with the iphone?

Just picked up some RW covers, but is that what's causing the leaves to curl/fold like a taco shell? Hopefully i can get regular cam to upload some pics. I mean it's not the end of the world but don't recall this before on previous indoor grows.

i had the exact same problem a week or two ago. I raised the PH and almost all the curling went away. not sure if that will help for you though. other than the curling are there any yellow spots on the leaves or burned tips?

I think that means that your PPM is too high for the age of the plants. Leaves curling up means that they are over fed and nutrients are to strong.
Lower a little (like 1/3) and they should bounce back within a week.

I thought it meant heat stress also. I have heard of extremely low humidity causing this also. Pretty sure the leaves would be curling under, like a claw if were overfeeding.

My temps are 70-72 and my nutes were at 400 ppm with ro for first 7 days after rez change bumped to 600. Wouldn't think either of those would be the cause but i'm no expert. Tomorrow i was gonna flip and use the lucas which would be a much higher dose of nutes. Starting to have second thoughts.

I believe i read under hps you can start off with 8/16 is that not true. I was feeding 5/5/5 ml per gal which gave me 600, There was a spot or 2 of yellow but on older leaves from when i picked up the clones. Anybody else have any ideas?

What was your PH? What did you you change it to?

It sounds like cal mag problems to me....not 100% tho. I was too high at like around 6.5-7 and I was getting yellowing on my leaves. I lowered it to around 5.5 and I got the leaf curl. So I raised it up to 5.8-6 ish (I dont have a digital PH meter). Most of the leaf curl is gone now. I just fluctuate the rate depending on how the plants respond.

From what i've read it's not cal-mag plants look to healthy just the folding leafs. I'm using a dig pen and ph is right at 5.8-6.0 which is where the plants absorb the cal-mag. Where are the pros at? PK or hydrosun help a brother out!!!!!!:wave:

:D the roots look like that if they are proper healthy mate, and the leaves on my plants are quite often rigid a little like a taco at the peak of their day cycle. I find the droop every watering and pick up for the day then droop just before the night. I am guessing th plants look nice green and healthy other than this root hair and taco leaf???

^^^I thought leaves curling up had to do with heat stress.

if they curl form the tips. If they fold like a taco (not too much) they are rigid which is a good sign your plants are happy girls!!

(correct me if I am wrong but I have seen this plenty with me plants and never had any yield complaints.)

curling like described is as mentioned by this good person often caused by too high or too low ph.

If the PH is too high, the leaftips will curl downwards, if the ph is too low, the leaf will curl upwards as described by you.

Hope this helps

Isn't 10 days old a little soon to be feeding them nutes? I usually go 3 to 4 weeks before their first light feed. Maybe that's just me.

i think bullseye is on to something.

how close is the 1k light to the plants?

Tacoing leaves is often a protective reaction against either too much light (photons) or heat from the lamp and other possible environmental factors.

Light is 24-26 inches away as i always have it, feeding them nutes with RO water is norm in hydro with low dosage. As i stated previously growth isn't the issue, i went away for 2 days and was amazed after not seeing them for a few days the amount of growth. The leaves definetly look like heat stress but i have room temps and light height in check.

So it's more of curiosity than anything never had this happen in my previous grows indoors that i recall. Anyways will try to borrow a cam to take some pics. In the mean time gonna flush tomorrow with RO phed water and then flip on monday usuing the lucas. Friggn iphones can't believe that there's no way to adjust the rez on this phone
