What do professional fruit growers use?

What exactly do mass fruit growers use? I'm not sure which fruit relates better to cannabis. Maybe tomatoes, maybe bananas... Whatever fruit it might be, what are their growers using for nutrients?

Yes, I know some will swear by maxibloom or maxy grow, others by GH, and others by AN. But I'm sure that mass fruit growers don't use any of that stuff.

Some of you might say that such nutes will make our stuff taste bad. But honestly, if it's good for the food we eat, it gotta be good enough for the pot we smoke. Makes sense?

I can't think of ANYTHING being "mass grown" where the end result is BETTER, than something that's hand crafted.

is mass made beer better than micro-brewery stuff?

I know a hydroponic lettuce grower that for YEARS tried to get my restaurant to use his butter lettuce,...and for YEARS I kept telling him "when your stuff TASTES as good as soil grown, THEN I'll buy it from you.", and he insisted that it did,...but everytime I'd get a sample and put it next to something from greenleaf, or star route farms, his stuff tasted like cellulose compared to the smaller production run, hand crafted/organic soil grown stuff.

so in your post you state:
"But honestly, if it's good for the food we eat, it gotta be good enough for the pot we smoke. Makes sense?"

NOTHING in a chemical based fertilizer is "good for the food we eat", so I think your comparison is slightly off, but I get your point/idea.

the next question I had was "dayum dood, how much are you GROWING?" :jawdrop:

Although I understand the above sentiment, I can totally understand why the question is being asked, it is something I've wondered as well.

Also, tomatoes might be the best comparison, or perhaps hops..

Yes, everyone knows that home made natural stuff is just better. Even eggs...

But what I was mostly addressing, was that there otta be some nutrients out there that are at least 98% as good as GH, and AN stuff for 1/100 of the price.

ie: my dealer sells 2x4 liters connoisseur bottles for 170€ to most people. I mean, come on... Seriously?
2x1 liter sensi grow or bloom a/b sells for 14€. That aint all that expensive. At least not until you start running 200 litter nute tanks for every 6 mother plants, flushing every week...

But, it's not only for the money factor, it's also a matter of feeling ripped off.

Organic milk finishes last in taste tests

There are other reasons to choose organic food including ethical concerns, but the taste angle is certainly not as unequivocal as many would have us believe. One thing we do know for sure and that has been documented well over many, many years, is the human brain's fallibility and susceptibility to suggestion!

Milk is a very different case than plants. You are consuming a byproduct of digestion, and the taste difference is dramatic. I cannot fathom buying conventional milk, knowing how much fuller and delicious organic milk tastes. This is the problem with stupid testing methodologies: test one arbitrary example of each category and then extrapolate results to apply to the general case. Science doesn't work that way.

Though I understand you point, I don't think that article extrapolated at all beyond milk and the associated taste test. It even went to the trouble of explaining why milk in particular may be a misleading candidate for an organic vs non-organic taste test.

My point wasn't that organic is either better or worse; merely that the suggestion that some will often make that organic will always taste better is not only entirely subjective, but demonstrably untrue in light of the numerous taste tests that have been conducted (using proper scientific methodologies or otherwise).

Personally, I hate mayonnaise. Some will disagree. :)

For crops we used to till in 16-16-16 about 18"-22" down below were the seeds are planted and Orchard wasn't a whole lot different.

Now with designer seed it comes with custom formulated Ferts that are mixed to meet the needs of your soil from soil tests. Same with the orchard I've applied 10 different formulas for about 25 acres of orchard crops. And I fairly sure there are minimum orders of 5 acres, and may require a commercial license just like the Diesel we buy.
