150w HPS Club and Resource Guide......

Hey guys, a couple quick questions for my two 150 HPS im currently setting up:

I bought two of the 150 watt vapor tights from e econolight, but was surprised to find out they did not have any ballast components in them (stupid me)

So my question is what would would be the fastest and/or cheapest way to piece together the transformer/capacitor/starter etc for them?

i just got my 150 w hps with remote ballast,reflector and bulb brand new for 69.00
best bang for the $$$ hands down..my days of screwing with econolight are done..why bother when for the same price you get remote ballast,reflector,bulb? done deal!

Thats a good deal, if you don't mind me asking who did you buy them through?I might need to get more lights..lol

TxMatt, unless you got the cfl model, it's incandescent but not hid. The only hid vapor-tight light they're selling in the latest catalog is a 70 watt MH. If I were you, I'd call e-conolight and see if you can return them.

The cheapest 150w HPS lamp e-conolight has is ~$45. It's a security flood, if you want a remote you'll have to do it yourself. It's about the cheapest option, short of getting a used one or building a kit from scratch.

HTG Supply has a remote ballast w/ reflector for ~$69 shipped.

hey whats up everyone new grower here .. my system is gonna be hydro ..since i would like to check up on my plants daily its a SH bubbleponic.. this is my first grow using 150 hps sun system n 4 23w -105w cfl 2 5000k 2 2700k (if i get another sun system 150 , will my yeild increase alot ? ) .. here is my grow room ...

i wanna get at least 2 oz and up .. could this be done with 1 hps with side lighting or 1 hps and side lighting for veg and 2 hps 150w for flowering? i hope you guys understood me thanks for everything though

if your not so good with plants a 150w and cfl will pull you 2oz or more as long as you put enough plants or veg long enough
how many plants you gonna run
p/s i only have one 150w hps and im going for 4-6 oz with 4 or 6 plants cuz six my limit

4-6 zips with a 150w..i have dozens of grows with 150s and barley crack them numbers..6 plant limit..isnt it 3 in flower and 3 in veg for a total of six? putting 6 right into flower will make you over your limits!

18 under a foot veging and 6 budding and 4 zips with a 150w was easy and im trying for better

and most dont get that much from these 150s cuz they dont have enough plants

i was gonna do 3 plants or 4 dont know yet probably 3 .. was gonna veg for 5 full weeks since in hydro its faster 24/0 lighting ... flower for like 9 - 10 weeks depending on strain .. got 2 6" inches fans one on the plants and light bulb and another up on top of the hps to circulate air .. i was just gonna make a hole in my wall for exhaust if anything .. think i could pull it off ?

New...nice setup. i think you could easily break 2oz mark with all the space you have. I would put 4 in there, which will also shorten your veg time. A couple pages back i posted some pic from my first grow, half of your space or less,two plants in soil, vertical... 4+oz. so i think yours goals should be easily achieved.

Look at catmans grow, hes got at least 12 plants packed in there, and they all seem to be happy. my second try was 16plants sog, but had to cancel that grow cause i had to move out from apartment, but till than everything was going well. here's a few pic

You are setting yourself up for disappointment if you don't set up your air flow proper. Two fans blowing around inside and a hole in the wall will not cut it. No how no way.

this closet is in the basement and alot of air flow pass around here if anything i would make 3 holes 1 intake another one outtake and one more hole just for more air this should be enough right?

no kidding i think you missed the point tho.. we was basing this on medical marijuana grow plant limits... not cab, light or growing style limits.

i know ive been reading about bout growing for at least 2 month straight only thing im a lil confuse is the air flow and the heat the 150 hps produce.. how much do they produce ? .. and behind the closet is a hallway to the backdoor so i was just gonna leave my screen door open and alot of air comes in with pressure so i know if i make a hole in the wall of the closet (size of a door knob) and get another fan and put it close to the hole, i will pull alot of cool air in ..
