well i.c, was just wondering if any of you use a ozone generator. i have a few questions if you could help me out....

how often do you run it?
how many watts does it run? im sure it depends on size of the model. but roughly?
do you notice any ill effects on the plants??
do you keep it in the same room as the plants????
if your exausting your basement into your house. would it still be safe to use???

thats all i can think of for now... pleassse let me kno... these things sound INCREDIBLE. thanks

sneakkkkk.

all those questions depend on the size and ventilation of the room. You cant use them as your main odor killer and you dont want that shit by the plants or your lungs in large amounts.

i used one before, a regular size and a jr
i leave it on most of the time except when i go into the room and do work
i put that in the same room with plants
and it seems to do ok.. didnt notice anything bad for them
but i know its not good if your in the same room, i get light headed after 15-20 mins next to it.

It will greatly depend on the amount of ozone being generated. In extremely high levels it will turn water to peroxide, cause nose and ear bleading ect. Best bet is to inject it into the exhaust some how, but it also needs a min or two contact time to neutralize/oxidize the odor molecules.

what if the ozone generator was in my intake room. which is seperate from the grow.... then was exausted out of my main room threw the carbon scrubber... does this sound dangerous in anyway?? i can explain further if that didnt make since. thanks

if you run in line then make sure you have about 20' of ducting or a baffle box past the ozone machine to let the ozone react with the smell particles, other wise you'll smell the ozone at the other end.

You could also get a second charcoal filter like this and put it at the end http://hydrotek.ca/en/product.php?id=333 Its a straight through charcoal filter.

so with that air box. it would go... room with ozone. then ducting from ozone room into flower room. about 15-20 feet worth. then air box , and the air coming from the air box would be the fresh air plus ozone air????

also. should i put the ozone closer to the intake of as far away as possible....

sorry if that was confusing. im puffin some og hash thats wrecking me to pieces. haha

thanks

Again it will depend on the output of the ozone gen. If it it too high you will damage your plants when it comes into the grow room from the intake room. It will also degrade natural rubber, latex and other stuff. It needs to be in contact with the smelly air for a min or two to do the trick. Also if the output is too much you will still smell the ozone at the exhaust end of the run(still better than the sweet smell we all love). Ozone is very usefull if you're carefull about it's set up.

I have a big one on a 8" duct fan in my airlock, it runs on a timer for 15 minutes then off for 45 min. Otherwise it smells too strong.

ozone is great for me..been using for a few months..people love to spout rumours with no real world experience though as in all things internet.

i have mine sitting not 2 ft away from the goods.

15 minutes per hour is plenty with mine. But I'm sure if you want to get ripped off and pay for a retail ozone gennie, mine would be up there in the hundreds of dollars..It's quite powerful..I can't imagine more than 15min./hr

I made mine with a NOS 25 dollar neon transformer (tried cold cathode transformers as well..they dont work for this application IME) and a microscope slide, and some metal mesh..

So easy a caveman could do it

Just for you Sneak, I took a pic of my rig:

Uvonair CD-800 on a timer hooked to a 8" duct fan on a speed controller to keep the noise down (it doesn't need much airflow) and the wole thing just sits in my air lock room.
