What's new

Southern US States set back sixty years...

State Representative Hank Johnson just set a profound example for the rest of the south...

It's not easy to listen to him bumble on, but he does drop a real zinger towards the middle...

He goes on and on at the beginning about the small size of the Island of guam, and then says "My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize."

This is in the toker's den because it's funny.

haha I thought about posting this, just heard it on the Jones show. If he knows this much about geology, we should take what he says about global warming seriously, he seems to be a well educated expert!

bahh what a fucking idiot. If I was there I would have laughed my ass off before going over to him and slapping the living shit off his face.

I'm wondering if he's always just sounded that... dumb? Who would put him in that position?
REP. JOHNSON: Now, this is an island that at its widest level is, what, 12 miles from shore to shore and at its smallest level, smallest location it's seven miles between one shore and the other. Is that correct?

ADM. WILLARD: I don't have the exact dimensions, but to your point, sir, I think Guam is a small island.

REP. JOHNSON: Very small island and about 24 miles, if I recall, long, 24 miles long, about seven miles wide at the least widest place on the island and about 12 miles wide on the widest part of the island. And I don't know how many square miles that is. Do you happen to know?

ADM. WILLARD: I don't have that figure with me, sir. I can certainly supply it to you if you'd like.

REP. JOHNSON: My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.

What does this mans ideas have to do with the people of the south. If a man in LA kills someone is it fair to assume all people on the stoned coast are killers. Free your mind man.
I seen that article in the press. Seems that the free press don't believe in free speech or the rights to voice your own opinion. If the free press would expand and report the story in whole you would know that they were discussing a new navel base on Guam and the senator was speaking of tipping the ecological balance of the island with the new construction. There are two side to every tale.

They're trying to make this clownshoe look more "informed" with the spin control after the fact...
Plainly this man is just insane or illiterate. They said he was afraid that the balance of the ecosystem would be in jepoardy due to the sigificantly increased population....
Yeah friggin' right....
These are your elected officials people. Now you know why the world is so backwards.

So why is he setting an example for the south?

Why don't you say he is setting an example for hawaiins or minorities?

Why don't you say he is setting an example for buddhists?

You were trying to be prejudice but didn't want anyone here to be mad at you?

He was born in Washington D.C.

he wasnt being prejudice i think...and hope. i just think he said that, cause johnson reps the 4th dis. of georgia.. which is in the south.

wouldnt it be fucking crazy if a earthquake hits Guam, and the top surface of the island slides off and capsizes.....and people called this guy a genius for predicting it.

read the guy's title, "State Representative"

maybe the OP didnt say that other shit because no one elected him a buddhist, hawaiin, or a minority......he was elected by a people in an area of the south to represent people in an area of the south. Seems self explanatory.

ijimunot, what does this have to do with free speech? A state representative said some dumb shit, it needs to be in the news, so the people he represents can make an informed decision when it comes time for elections. No one is inhibiting the Representative's right to say whatever he pleases, but he has to expect repercussions for his actions if they are not representative and satisfactory to the people he is elected by. I think it would be fair to assume the whole stoned coast were killers and/or didnt mind killing, if they elected a known murderer as a state representative. This isnt just some guy off the street who said some dumb shit.
