Wow I love how even your scrog turned out. Those buds look super tasty. It looks like you've pretty much mastered scrog on your first run. Awesome job.
Thanks labtec. I've read some more on training techniques and hope to get more produce next time around. Thanks for stopping by. I'm puffing on a tester right now....stoner time, lol.
Hello x.man and YobLamina. Thanks for stopping by.
Here's the drying setup. The taller tops are cut and laying on the screen. The dirt was dry and there's air circulation so this should be dry in ~3 days.
I wasn't impressed with the root ball. I expected the top tray to be full and is was more like 60%. The roots didn't grow through the siv into the second tray of dirt very well either. I'll get a more suitable pot next time, even if I have to veg under hps.
Was tripping there for a second disco, I thought I was in bizarro upside down land when I looked at yout pic. Nice harvest right there bro, enjoy the fruits of your labour and let us know how she smokes up hey??
Sorry, what was that about a siv? What material did you use? Is this something like what I did resting the smart pot on perlite? I must've missed it and we're nearly at page 30, lol I was just thinking maybe the siv restricted or strangled the roots or something like that maybe? Got yourself a fantastic lookin' harvest there either way!
Hey boom, it was an abrupt harvest. My plants in veg were growing into the lights and the fan and had to come out. This cross is a ~65 day variety I usually take to 70. 63 days is what this one got and it's pretty good IMO.
Scrub, the siv is a plastic seedling tray that fits inside the outer tray. When I potted up, I pulled the siv out of the outer tray and stacked it on top of another tray full of dirt. I envisioned feeder roots growing through the siv and inundating the fresh dirt. The holes are 1/2" x 1/2". This happened poorly, some of the roots grew completely to the bottom of the new dirt but the majority of the root mass tangled in the siv. I guess I can add it to the list of less than good ideas, lol. Next time I'll scrog with a single container big enough to do the job. That for the kinds words Scrub.
catman, that's a sad subject. I'm a conservative grower and a liberal smoker. The pic worthy stuff is largely history....what were we talking about? Oh yeah . I have about two and a half quart jars of untrimmed sqwig and is pretty unsightly. If you'll forgive me for not posting a pic, I'll do a better job with the MM.
The tray was too shallow for roots to inundate all the soil. The result was spindly tops. Everything below the nuggs at the top was popcorn. Add to that the popcorn under the screen and it probably left only 35 to 40% bud overall. On a lighter note, this stuff seems every bit as strong as the bud.
