1st Hash Run

So this is my first time making hash and i'm doing it with my new sprung bags that seem like a good deal. I used about 75g of trim and fan leaves and I only used a spoon to stir because i didnt have a hand mixer.

This is what i got after the first run....

Now the whole bounty after both runs...

Total dry weight was about 4g

Do you think I would have gotten more with a power hand mixer or is this about normal? And also I'm assuming the 25 micron should be the most potent...is this true?

best pull

best pull

my best pulls are normally the 73/90/120 bags. I dont run the 25 bag as I feel it drains too slow and is not the quality im looking for. 45 can be decent but in most cases I find the real gold in the 73/90/120 bags :)

Depends on the strain, but 100/73 micron are usually my best pulls of clean mature trichome heads. The 25 has a lot more immature heads and plant fines in it.

About 5 to 7.5% yield is in the ball park for most of the mixed leaf I've run unless it contains a lot of sugar and popcorn. Fan leaves have the least.

You can get more by beating the material up more, but that adds more non active plant bulk too.

If you look at the remains at 30X, you can see what you are leaving. You can pick up a 30/100X lighted pocket magnifier for doing that at Radio Shack cheeep. Nothing beats a good lookee see at both what you are getting and what you are leaving..................

i was hoping this hash would bubble but it doesn't, why is that? i hope this isnt a stupid question but what exactly determines whether or not you get bubble hash? does it all have to do with using quality bud or is it more to do with the process? what is the quality difference between hash made from trimmings as apposed to hash made from bud?

in order to get full melt or hash that bubbles when kiised with a flame you have got use only the best trim from the best strains. No fan leaves, amd fresh frozen has always worked great for me.

Looks real nice gtbuds2332
You should make some JellyHash for sure, just need a little BHO a just love it. There´s a nice DIY on ICM for soma´s Jelly Hash, it´s real kick ass hash.

I love making bubble hash. It just keeps getting better each time i do it. My first couple times i made bubble hash the 25 bag took over an hour to drain, i almost quit using it. I went back and read the bubble bag instructions and found out about the up and down jigging method and now the 25 bag drains in about 2 mins. When it gets to the end i place the bag on a towel to absorb the water since i cant jig it anymore.

Last time i used a mix of 122 grams of Jillybean, Katsu Bubba kush, Satori and Hashberry trim and popcorn buds. My best pulls were from the 110 and 73 bag. The 73 bubbles when just kissed by the flame for a few seconds. It is some potent stuff. The flavor is wonderful too.

Here is a picture of the just over 11 grams that i ended up with last time. The 73dried an Amber color and the 25 dried almost black. the 110 didnt really change color when dried. Ijust trash or give the 160 away since it is such low quality.

I had never tried hash until i made my own. I love it and consider myself hooked now. ;-)

i wouldnt say that the 25 isnt the best and isnt worth saving haha... i think its definitely strain dependent seeing as though indica dominant strains have trichromes which are much larger in size (especially the heads of the glands) when compared to a sativa dominant or pure sativa...so if your using pure or very sativa dominant trim than the 25 bag is gonna hold most of the product ( i have witnessed this on several occasions much to my initial surprise) and a very good product at that

I agree with you. The 25 from my last run is VERY good quality.

I do not use a 160. I have a payload 4 bag set.220,90,75 and a 25. I just work with the 220,75 and 25 and all is well.:tiphat:

I wouldn't be disappointed at all with what you have. I have a hard time using any bud material for hash. Id just rather smoke the buds. Let us now how it goes if you do use buds.
