Anti surveillance thread

When I was a kid there was someone who would always cut through the corner of our yard(we lived at a three way intersection) and my dad took some old wood strips, put nails through them, and would laid them through the corner of our yard every night and pick them up in the morning. About a week later, we had tire tracks through our yard again, right over the nail strips, and that shit NEVER happened again. HAHAHA.

That was ME! When a bit tipsy and making that wide turn at high speed and drifting into your yard was just irresistible at 2 am - until that board wacked thru my wheel well for a few revolutions. I totally respected that move. Shit. If it wasn't me, that's hilarious!!

every morning in my town the local cop drives up and down EACH ROAD IN TOWN looking for people broken down or whatever... when they sit there and start watching you... flash your lights make them know your onto there shit!! thats what i do. FUCK EM

yeah I am aware of their pattern of behavior when I go into town and know when they seem to be acting unusually. I too will let them know (plainly but also discreetly) I am on to them when they appear to be watching me. I park the car and get out and do what I was going to do anyway, but I glare at them for a few seconds to let them know they are not fooling me.

That was originally the purpose of this thread anyway and a recent event has prompted me to revive the effort. The effort I speak of is for people to speak up on what they notice aircraft doing, so they can surprise fewer people and less people become their victims as a result.

Plane kills beach jogger in emergency landing

38-year-old father was listening to iPod when hit from behind in S.C.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - A 38-year-old father of two was jogging and listening to his iPod when he was hit from behind and killed by a small plane making an emergency landing on the beach, officials said Tuesday.Robert Gary Jones of Woodstock, Ga., died instantly Monday evening when he was hit by the single-engine plane, which had lost its propeller, said Beaufort County Coroner Ed Allen. The pilot's vision was blocked by oil on the windshield.
Jones apparently did not see or hear the plane, which was "basically gliding," the coroner said...

well I didn't mean quite like that but thanks for the effort, if we all try to help each other out we will all be better off. Talk about a freaky tragedy, damn that's awful!

thanks, at least someone is taking me seriously! I am trying to help myself, yes, but also all of you. I guess in Cali a search operation would be pretty easy to distinguish from normal air traffic, but here and most places people may need guidance. If we make it harder for them to bust us, they will get less of us. Sure they will adapt, but so can we and we can help ourselves by helping one another.

Yes I would like to get a spotting scope. Call it paranoia, but it could just as easily be a hobby, maybe I just like to identify what agency flies that chopper or which groups use this aircraft or the other. Anyone know of any chopper ID websites?

There was this chopper that came by that was black and sleek looking with gray streaks. It seemed to have a serial number of numbers and letters. I never saw one like that before, my guess would be a private chopper on that one (at least I know what the state choppers look like and those are the ones to watch for). Then there was this small blue-bottomed plane, flying pretty low but not ridiculously so, it would fly a straight trajectory to a point not too far in the distance, then come back around and pass directly over again and again for 20 minutes to a half hour. It went away for a couple hours and came back and did the same thing 2 more times. When I went outside to look, it would make it look good and circle around over one distant spot and another then would come right back when I went inside. Just want to compare notes to see if this is surveillance behavior or not. It does not matter if I have something going or not, so don't ask me, they do this regardless but seem to hang around more when I am doing something or have veggies/flowers they may be checking to make sure it isn't our favorite plant. So there it is, I hope it gets the serious response it deserves.

Not that I am above joking around, but this was meant to be a serious topic. But you can send me one of those helmets if you want Flying Goat, I don't know my brother's head is way bigger than mine but don't know what size it is, small to medium maybe? :D

thanks, well I am over the paperboy thing like I said, I am sure that is what is was likely to be, that does not concern me anymore. Don't mean to sound like a broken record, but any aircraft or surveillance ID tips would be appreciated to see if they are trying to watch me or if it is something else. thanks

well it is a shame that no one takes this seriously, but I will keep on talking about what goes on, in an effort to educate so that if something ever happens to me, it will be out there and you can learn by my mistakes to avoid the same pitfalls.

So anyone know why there would be a sudden spike of planes flying over the house at night? Normally, I am lucky if there are one or two planes that fly by all night from like 9PM to 6 AM. Now it is as often as every few minutes, and then after they fly over like that 3-4 times, a lull and more later. Maybe once a half hour on average but like I said they come in bunches. You can't dismiss that as flight school or something due to the time of day. So why would there be a sudden spike in night air traffic? No, no new airports opened around here, and not many business travelers fly at like 9 or 10 PM that I know of. OK I hope we can help each other here, but I sadly expect only jokes or no responses. Like I said, I will keep fighting the good fight even if it is a one man fight.

You need to be looking for FLIR camera's hooked up on the belly of the helicopter, it's a big unit like the one this guy is messing with.
MSH04_USGS_scientist_attaches_FLIR_10-05-04.jpg

The planes flying overhead may not be associated with your grow, it's not nearly as practical to do a FLIR scan with an airplane as it is with heli.. sounds more like airforce activity or something.. plus the weather is getting better for flying, so you will see more planes flying. If they are going to spend the money, they would go for helicopter..

What you need to be concerned about is where you are exhausting your heat from your indoor grow room, and any outdoor they may spot.. The safest place to exhaust your heat is under your house if you have an open frame foundation. You just don't want to be pumping out tons of heat from an isolated source, all day long. They know you aren't running your drier 24/7 and perhaps they already located it's vent.. Try to disperse all the heat as much as you can throughout your house. If you have outdoor, make sure they are planted near a tree line or other vegetation, so they blend in, and camouflage any growing material you bring to your grow site.

Don't steal electricity, could be a tip from the electric company. Police reward electric company employees for tips on high electric usage from customers.

It kind of sounds like someone ratted you to the police, and they are trying to gain more reasonable suspicion that you are growing. Did you notice anyone stop talking to you recently, or got busted? Did you tell a lot of people about your grow? The fact that you are getting a little paranoid is your gut instinct, and your gut has a strong intuition sometimes.. If a police officer(s) come knocking on your door, DO NOT ANSWER THE FUCKING DOOR, EVER. Pretend you are not there, they will try everything they can to come inside, and say "it smells like pot." When I was in college, I had a sheriff come to my house knock on my door, with a paper and clipboard. (I saw him on my surveillance camera pointed right at the door, and I think that is what eventually scared him away) I did not answer the door even though I was probably 10 feet away from him... I later found out someone ratted me to the police after they got busted, and this sheriff was trying to do a "knock and talk". Do not EVER let a police officer in your HOME .. EVER.. If they need entry, they will obtain a search warrant and break the door down, which will be much harder for them to acquire a warrant when you don't let them in to snoop.

Just be careful, and weigh the risks versus the rewards and you should be fine.

btw..

This is badass, I actually want one of these, and shiiit, you could use this to spy on that car coming around your way too!... http://www.draganfly.com/uav-helicopter/draganflyer-x6/features/flir-camera.php

thanks man! I understand, in a way, those who joke about it. It probably is me just wondering (not even worrying, really) about nothing. But that being said, as soon as I said that, there hasn't been one plane in the last 24 hours plus that I was aware of, NOT ONE! The previous night there were dozens, maybe several dozen, when there are usually one or two. There has been a lot of night flying a day or two previous to that, before that not much at all. A couple of black choppers today flying together and that was it, and they were very high up, so far they sounded like line trimmers! So in the unlikely event that they were using private planes to do snooping they could not otherwise do, maybe my mentioning it did some good so they can't as easily pull that trick on others. I have nothing going on at the moment, but was theorizing that they were doing checks anyway, either random ones or maybe checking me out for some reason. Like I said, not likely but it helps to discuss it and hear what others have to say about activity in their area as well so we can compare notes and make it harder for them to catch those of us who are growing.

To that end, that illustration was very helpful, thanks! And what you said makes me think it is unlikely they are using FLIR on planes. For anyone who is or is intending to do something soon :) , your advice is very helpful for both indoor and outdoor folks to stay safe. Hypothetically, if you have a solid foundation, how would you vent under that? I have a breezeway attached to a garage, and under the breezeway is a crawl space "cellar", I could vent into that then? I live in a rural area but not super-isolated like some areas in northern Maine or anything, but I probably do not have to worry about neighbors or anyone smelling anything from a distance. I am now in the small town I grew up in, and everyone I knew has moved on. I was as "straight" as you can get back in high school that was a while ago. So I don't think anyone ratted on me, unless punk kids I see around town are making up stories about me! :D
Cops seem to watch me in town but I may just be imagining. But like with the air traffic, when I "call them on it", the activity seems to dissipate. So then I wonder if they are keylogging me or something. I have no connections in the area, I am pretty much a hermit these days and don't get out much so I think I am pretty safe. talking helps, thanks again.

PS I jinxed myself! AS soon as I said that, right on que, a plane! :D

well nothing too much lately, a chopper flew over today, first I've seen in some time actually, and the planes fly over a lot some mornings and not hardly at all some days.

But last night, I did see something that was freaky. I saw something in the sky as I was walking at night. At first, it just looked like an ordinary spotlight on a plane shining in my eyes from a small bright point like a distant flashlight. Then when I noticed it, the light soon went much dimmer, then kind of reversed course and went off to the side as well (diagonal motion), too swiftly to be a plane but not nearly as fast as a streaking meteorite, and it was gone in a second or two!
What the hell could that be? I mentioned earlier somewhere in this or another thread that I saw something similar once. Maybe aliens will take me on a tour or something, I can only hope! :D

I live on a hill, and in a hilly region where other hills face mine. Sometimes I notice spotlights or headlights sitting there at night for prolonged periods and I don't know why. I can see at least a half mile down the road. There is my long drive going down a hill, then a road, then a left turn leading to another road and I can see a little beyond that intersection here in the boonies. There is this car, always at like 5:15 AM local time, it comes down the road I live on, past my drive, past that road that is the left turn for like at least 50-100 feet beyond, always turns around and goes down that other road that it could have gone down easily without turning around. Instead it turns around, drives back a little ways, stops, creeps forward a little, stops again, several more seconds before it finally goes down that road. On that other road, it stops for a few seconds whereever there is a clearing that provides a clear view between that road and my hill above. Now maybe they are just nosy commuters to some job, maybe they are just fascinated at the house on the hill with the lights on including christmas lights still, but of course I fear LEO spying. so before dismissing me as a paranoid freak, explain what logical or sensible reason someone would have to do this? This has been going on almost every day for months. Thanks

Oh sorry I bothered you. I was hooking up with the UPS man before he goes to work, sometimes he is late. ;)

well it has been the same old thing, periods where there are very few planes and days where they are constantly buzzing over all day, days where I go into town and nothing is going on and others where I seem to be followed or watched. I think I am finally realizing that, yes, I am too paranoid, I should always be aware of my surroundings and vigilant/watchful of what is going on around me, but that there is no reason to worry or if there is it is not going to help anyway.

I do find it interesting however, that for the last few weeks at least, there is now the 4:20 plane! A plane has started flying over almost every day, always within 10 minutes plus or minus 4:20 AM, more often than not right at 4:20. I am amused by it more than anything else, although it does make a lot of noise when it goes over which is annoying. I'd like to think it is a writer at High Times commuting into work to NYC in his small plane every day, flying high not in altitude but in other ways! ;)

It is a free country, get off your ass and go ask homey what he wants....your worried he is learing at your teenage daughter IDK.....come now, what happened to face to face confrontation....and if they are cops they may talk to you and tell what their after, they can be that dumb.

After reading your posts Space Toker, I think you are freaking out about nothing, classic stoner paranoia IMO. Don't get me wrong if I hear a chopper buzzing around, my heart beats a little quicker and I start thinking of all the bad stuff that could happen, but 9 times out of 10 its usually a punk kid joyriding that the pork choppers are trying to catch.

You seem to have concluded that the car surveillence was just doing deliveries, any chance you live near an airport, private airfield, hospital, search and rescue? basically is there any chance the high number of chopper/planes spottings could be as easily explained as the car surveillence?

I wouldn't worry too much it's been months since you started this thread and your still here. Paranoia will destroy ya.

yo. lol. i'm from the northeast, and almost everything you explained. i've seen and noticed. this is not paranoia. it's being diligent. the spot light thing though. i've noticed this too. before i would goto my grow house i would swoop on top of the mountain by it and scope. one time i saw a heli just hovering spot lighting the house. i freaked. i drove down there and right around the house the light was so BRIGHT!! when i finally got to the house. it was gone. they don't play games in the northeast homie. be careful.

when i grew back there. i made it general practice. 2 grows in a house and move on. sometimes even 1 grow depending on the heat. i pretty much had a travelling 6000 watt setup. i had a place to keep my mothers/clones with a smaller light setup. but it was some crazy times man. almost like the time of my life. make you really feel alive.
