What's up with my Hash?? It's soft like Play-doh

A friend of mine gave me some hash for free. It has the consistancy of play-doh.

I've smoked my fair share of hash and never had some that was so soft and pliable.

I threw some in a bowl and when I put flame to it the hash had some small sparks coming off it.

I have a few theories. Maybe the hash is still very wet?? (unlikely as I left it out to dry for over 24 hours and it's still very pliable).

Or maybe it's just rub, BUT there was some sort of solvent used to get the rub off the utensils?

My third theory is that maybe he cuts something into the hash. It was even suggested to me that some people cut vaseline into hash I hope my buddy wouldn't give me shit like that.

I asked my friend straight up why the hash was so soft. He paused for a second then told me it's the way he cures it. hmmm...

I should note, this guy's a friend, someone I played hockey with, but we're not best buds or anything so I'm not 100% trustworthy of him.

Just hash. Probably made using bubble bags

Is it black?

My guess is ISO oil, with a plant matter stirred in.
We used to do this for commercial batches, and occasionally the plant matter would spark if it was high in nutrients.

I recieved the hash ball form. The outside was a very dark brown, but when I broke the ball open the insides where just brown.

well if butane hash is done RIGHT, it comes out fluffy like that, it just means all of the butane is heated out, that thicker, oilier stuff is realyl bad for you, still has traces of butane, so if it is butane hash, you got some good stuff

Easy answer for me, "Oh wow, really? Nice technique, how exactly does your process work?"

I suscribe to Occum's Razor, which says that the simplest answer is probably right. My guess would be an adulterant.

Hand pressing hash from the best sieves ruptures the resin heads and makes them more pliable, but they don't stay that way for very long as the lighter volitiles escape.

I will give you my first hand experience, when I make bubble hash I always test a bit of each micron before it fully dries, and most of the time it does crackle and it is because of the water still in the hash, as for sparks, im not too sure about that, doesnt sound good.

when i make hash using my bubble bags, the hash i get out of the 25 micron bag is always soft like that, but i press it immediately, and it stays pliable for a while.If it hardens up just play with it for a minute and it gets soft again

Sounds like the sam BS hash ive seen a dozen times, we had the same theory about the vaseline. Never the less just avoid that crap, put some fire to the hash, mold it, if it doesnt feel right throw it in the trashcan. I HATE BAD HASH!

From my experience doesn't matter how bad the hash is its still more potent by weight a .4 of any hash is goin to do more for you than a .4 of bud IMO

What i mean is you know the difference between good quality hash, and what you call "standard hash" (bad Hash) in Denmark. And the availibilty of Nice Hash in Denmark is good, is why i dont smoke anything not of top quality. I wasn´t talking about homemade Bubblehash. Sorry if offended anyone.
