Could be ph,could be warm temps. Tapwater usually need to be "doctored" before you can use it.

Do you use a dome and are you still using it? Do you mist? Neither should be done.

I had some of this in mine as well. There were only like 2 clones out of 20 that had that, but then again there was a leaf that was cut off there and it got dipped in rootech so that probably had something to do with it. My water was tap water as well but I left it in the bucket for about a week before I actually got to take clones. Try that next time and see if it helps. Lid off btw.

ive varied the temps from 75 to 82, no misting or plastic top, im thinking it might be the humidity because its in the 60s in the room adjoining, also it might be that i relocated my cloner and the light is only a foot above, its a 18" fat floro, i think ill relocate the whole unit and raise the light up, i just thought it was unusual that they only showed roots under the collars

And, in fact, ditch that bad root hormone and just go raw. It will root just as fast I promise. While you are at it, dump the aerocloner and just use jiffy pellets, a dixie cup and some saran wrap. I swear by that method.

I found that the more air stones that I put in my bubble cloner, the faster that every thing roots. Do you have air stones in there? I also find that when you don't have any air stones in there, everything mostly dies. I love my bubble cloners!

We're talking aerocloner not bubbler, no airstone needed.

I have a an Afghan that takes about three weeks to root.
I can put two rounds of SSSDH or Chemdog in there in the time it
takes one round of Afghan. Tap water is just fine. I use RO with
Clonex root solution and Cal-Mag. But it is not needed. I have it, so
I use it. Tap is fine though.

My EZ Cloner 60's are aerocloners. When I take out the air stones, most of the plants die. When I put more air stones in it, I get faster roots.
