what size cord ? 6x25 watt = 150w = 1.36amps
to be safe just feel the cord after the lights

Thanks for the advice! I realy aprecite it. the I have a fan mounted right above it and when i felt the cord tonight after about 20 hours on, it almost seemed cool lol. Im not sure of the cord details but it came from a shop light with reflective hood.

Thanks alot, I'm thinkin these'll run safe and i'll keep an i close eye on the temp

Maybe get a cable or chain to take up the weight of the lights. Even a string or rope would work but I like fireproof materials.

Hey, those "Y" expanders are not rated for that kind of use and I've personally seen them burn out before, being used like that. The one in the socket will go first..

You're using 150w.. why not just switch to a 150w HPS???

This is the money you could be saving if you grow

After looking at the chandelier hanging in my DR, yours isn't that bad. However, you risk losing all your bulbs if the fixture falls. If you're looking for ideas,

You can get something like this that for about 15 bucks. Same issue in a fall, but it will evenly distribute the light.

Great thinking. I have a spool of nickle wiring that I just used to take the weight off the cord. :thank you:

what is the thicknesss of the wires inside the flex ?

Say Wha?

Honestly, because I am poor. It actualy took me a while to slowly have enough ro buy splitters and cord, then pack of bulbs, then soil, etc.. I cant remember the last time I was ahead enough to spend a nice chunk of money. That cfl rig cost under or around 50 bucks, i cant remember but thats my guess.
I hope to sell just enough green off this grow to pay for a complete upgrade. Hopefuly upgrade to hps.

I was initialy thinking of a set up like this.. maybe a salvaged light from a vanity mirro, but im realy a noob at wiring.. so if it dont plug right in.. im screwed lol.

Thanks for all the help fellas! :thank you:

Normally those light ballast are meant to run 150 watts, each of those adapters can take a 400 watt load - you're good bro - but you should just get an HPS and pump our some more lumens for ur wattage!

Also throw some mylar up bro, helps with light penetration. Shit's like 20 bucks for a 50 foot roll, totally worth it.

Also you should give those walls a bleach scrubbing before putting anything over em look a little damp from my seat.

For safety purposes all of my gear (air pumps, lights, and fans) is plugged into a GFCI. It helps me sleep a little better.
