Thousands of pot plants seized in Travis, Williamson drug raids

So this one hit kind of close to home and I just wanted to share. I literally just saw this on today local 5:00pm news.

Up to $7 million worth of marijuana were seized Wednesday morning when law enforcement officials conducted raids in Travis and Williamson counties.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety and other law enforcement agencies simultaneously raided six indoor marijuana grow operations. DPS officials say they found 200 pounds of loose marijuana and 1,400 plants during the raid.

Five homes in Travis County and one in Williamson County were raided. Two people were taken into custody.

DPS officials say the raids were the result of a year-long investigation, which is ongoing.

I'll post more when they add some video to their site, and keep everyone updated.

All they said for now was: they were saficticated indoor grow ops in rental properties, and that they mostly just trying to blend end. They said something about red flags but haven't stated them yet. They also said Texas DPS said "indoor grow ops are on the rise".

Surely 200 pounds and 1,400 plants gone is going to affect someone's pocket book. I hope not mine. And they also stated only two people are in custody. Were their grow ops that bad ass that two people were able to manage the whole opperation? Does anyone know when Texas will get on the bandwagon?

I am so glad I left Travis county and Texas in general. There are some good things (I grew up there) but the whole state is basically babylon. ATX used to be cool but it's mostly all gone now. Almost everyone is asleep and unconscious (like nearly everywhere else).

It sounds like somebody got careless and greedy. TX likes to put the smack down on people like that. They have one of the largest public and corporate prison systems in the country. It's all $$$!

That is 35,000 a pound.

What happened was that some people grew cannabis inside ordinary houses, like many of us here do. How does the media spin it.... Multimillion dollar marijuana factories disguised as ordinary homes :D

He had 54 going at the same time in different
houses in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada region.
Now this guy makes me happy. The balls he had.
I guess he got tired of making chop sticks for a

of charges then tried to withdraw his guilty plea
later. He should have said he was stoned when

I guess when they (Asians) entered North America, they thought
their green card meant they could get to grow lots of green.

200lbs plus 1400 plants plus all the equipment... I dunno about 7 million, maybe on top dollar per gram sales of the 200lbs.

I wish they would give us the square footage of the growing spaces. That's the only information that matters really. 100 plants or 10 plants will produce roughly the same sized harvests in the same space.

I noticed they were using perlite mixtures but I didn't see any drip system in place. Probably means there was a much larger organization behind these two people that did the training and the feeding.

I don't understand it. If you've got a couple hundred thousand just get some land, build a small one story and a massive "fallout shelter." You can get everything zoned and grow a serious amount of buds without attracting any attention.

Hell, my dream is to purchase one of those old missile silos and convert it into my very own underground bio-shelter should the Zombies ever rise.

Unfortunately there's that whole world ending in 2012 thing and I'm in no position to get that silo purchased and rigged.

Some guy did the missle silo thing, made LSD in it, didn't turn out so well, maybe it'd work better with weed. Wonder if they use tiger dick and snake venom for nutrients, Ah, make big bud, yes

Seriously, in any neighborhood for every 1 pot house there are 4 child molesters. This guy is all pissy about plants!!! Effing Jim-Bob down the street fondled a 5 year old and did 6 years for it only to wind up the minimum distance allowed from a school or park.

On the list of great evils in the world, growing weed is way at the bottom.

WWJD? He'd put it in his sacramental oil and anoint his disciples. I know this because he did it and they wrote it down in that book... oh, what was the name of that book...
