Question about liquid KoolBloom

So I have tried searching, but have not been able to find a definitive answer on exactly how to mix this supplement in with your nutrient regime. I am running the lucas formula with ppm's being kept at [email protected] conversion in a RWC drip setup. Now my question is do I let my ppm's drop to a certain level before adding koolbloom or do I use full strength nutes plus the reccomended amount of koolbloom. I feel as if I would have to use a diluted solution because I am afraid of burning my plants with the extra P&K Thanks for your help!

no...it's an additive...get your PPM's set with your lucas formula, then add the additives...I usually use 1/2 srength for a week, to see how my girls react.

I see it used most often as an addition to the regular feeding schedule at a few different points during 12/12. Rez recommends using it @ 2 weeks in, 4 weeks in, and 5 weeks in, for one day each time for a 9 week strain. He recommends the powder KoolBloom now, but before he changed to powder he used liquid.

@ MilehighDave
That sounds like a good plan, now do you use half the recommended strength GH uses at intervals like grnmtngrower suggested or constant starting at a certain point?

@GrnMtnGrower
I was going to try the liquid first just because it seems easier to ease your plants into because of the lower P&K levels when compared to its powder cohort. So basically I only add the liquid for a day at the intervals you posted, or is that because he switched to powder?

Thank you all for your input so far!

He used the same single day Kool Bloom feeding technique when using the Liquid too. I'm not sure if it was the same schedule, but it definitely wasn't a constant thing.

Awesome, thank you for your help! I think I may go pick up a bottle and follow the schedule you posted because it seems the most logical since koolbloom is an additive and the plants would only need a temporary P+K boost at certain points in flowering to fatten em' up. Thanks again.

Rez's formula is based on a drain to waste.I use 0/5/10 lucas with 5 ml a gallon LKB from start of 12/12 until flush

I'll share my nutrient plan with ya, it's a bit different from what the rest of what I see here.

I got it from a guy on the growery.

Ok, I don't claim to have the best method by any means but I've been getting a shitload of PM's on what my feed program is.

First off I'm not one of those that believes to keep things on the lighter end of things I believe in pushing the limits with the nutrients and giving them all they can handle. Never under a lb per 1000watt light so the way I think on this issue isn't gonna change anytime soon.
I use to do SOG but now it's larger plants cause that is what I'm doing my breeding work on right now and to drop the number of plants to the limit I'm allowed. So I'm trying to come up with the plant that has the Purple Urkle, Grandaddy, Bubba Kush quality but Chronic, Critical Mass yields. (I'll get it you'll see ;) )

One month of veg starting at 5 to 5.5 mils FNG per gallon of water with a ph of 5.8 for the first two weeks.

Next two weeks of veg 5.5 to 6 mils FNG per gallon of water with ph at 5.8 to 6.2

Now flowering and I do things a little different here.

4 Mils FNG and 4 mils FNB per gallon of water for the first week (but you won't change the res till after week 3 of budding) with a ph of 5.8

Now one week into flowering I add 8 mils Liquid Kool Bloom per gallon of week 1 nutrient solution and run that for another 2 weeks.

Week 4 and 5 of budding are 8 mils FNB, 4 mils Liquid Kool Bloom, 1.25 or 1/4 tsp Dry Kool Bloom per gallon of water ph at 5.8 to 6.2

Week 6 and 7 get 8 mils FNB, 2.5 mils or 1/2 tsp of Dry Kool Bloom. Extend this a week for strains that take 9 weeks to finish.

Week 8 Gets 5 to 10 mils Flora Kleen per gallon of water for the first 3 days of the week. The last 4 days of the week just plain water.

Now when I say I push the limits I mean it. The plants would burn under floro's or dim lights cause they couldn't use the amount of nutrients but when they do get the right amount of everything they take off like rockets.

Remember this is what I do with the strains I have now. Work your way up to these amounts don't just do it cause some strains can't handle it.

Some of my other experiments. They said this can't be done all plants are in Dixie cups [image]/forums/thumbs/g08-37/116676165-thumb_380071965-679155836-100_4093_Small.jpg[/image]

Just kidding I've never smoked or eaten anything illegal ever. Just say no.

Do you think that using the liquid all the way through flowering helps more? I'm not to prone to doing another 3 res changes to put the nutes to 5/10 so I don't think I can use the kb all the way through the grow w/o burning the plants. Do you think Rez's way will still work well in recirculating setup, or was the method specifically catered to his needs?

Magash's regime looks pretty interesting, but I might hold off on it because I do not want to risk doing anything to my plants. But this did catch my eye and I might follow it next pull, but a little cut back. It seems that people prefer the kb powder to liquid, as another person I know began using the powder all the way though through the grow instead of beginning with the liquid. Ack, so many good ideas..Thanks again for all your help everyone!

Just be careful man. The powder can stress the fuck out of a plant if over used.

Yeah I think for this first time around I am going to just be doing the liquid @ half strength and mixing it in on Rez's schedule and see how the plants like it since his regime was based on dtw and not recirculating.

I use liquid kb week 3 - 7-8 depending on strain and the shit works great evry time. I usually put in like 200 ppm. If you want your final mix at say 900 put in base nutes to 700 then add 200 ppm kb that simple

Awesome man thank you for clarifying this. My girls are only a week so I have a little time before adding the liquid. Do you add it every time you add back nutrients or just once each week?
