Hempy Nutrients

Is there a consensus on what the best nutrients are for Hempy buckets?

I grew 3 large plants under a 600W in a 4x4 area and got about 14 ounces. I used Lucas Formula plus KoolBloom and molasses. I have 9 plants now that all about half the size of my last round, but I'm shooting for an even 2 lbs. I have another 600W in that room now so I'm looking at 1200W total in a 4x4 closet.

I'm completely out of nutrients and I want to start flowering in the next 4-5 days. Any suggestions? I'm considering AN SensiAB plus Big Bud and Overdrive, and possibly Bud Candy.

Anyone else have any suggestions on nutrients that are easy to use and will maximize my yields? I have awesome strains so I'm not worried about the potency or flavor... yield is the main concern here ;)

Thanks everyone!

Why not stick with what works. Quality nutes are quality nutes. Why do people believe than one company is better than the other at making nutes?

I say stick with what you know...and enjoy the rewards.:plant grow:

I believe that one company can make better nutrients than others because they all have their own team of independent chemists and researchers. The natural course of human scientific progress dictates that occasional breakthroughs WILL happen. I dunno, just a little philosophy for you.

And also, what works isn't necessarily what's best. I could cut a steak with a butter knife. It works, but it ain't best ;)

So nobody has anything to say other than keep doing what I'm doing? I have a very hard time believing that the lucas formula is the best nutrient profile for hempy buckets, the NPK is the same all throughout veg AND flower! It seems pretty common sense to me that that can be improved upon ;)

because there's a lot of intrinsic variation between various growth mediums my friend. Cation Exchange Capacity, water retention, compaction, presence of microfauna... these all contribute to the efficacy of the medium you use. Hempys are obviously WAY different than CoCo, and an order of magnitude removed from something like DWC or Aero.

My apologies though, I didn't know there was a specific nutrient forum. I'll re-pose my question over there

I'm well aware of those differences, but in the end... the plants need the same nutrients to grow. While there may be small differences, I wouldn't say that they're an order of magnitude away from anything.

its not just what you feed them, there are lots of variables to take into consideration, you gotta get dialled in before you can compare different nutes

Greenmtn- I suppose you are correct, and order of magnitude was an exaggeration. However, I don't feel that nutrients that are best for a DWC will necessarily be best for Hempys. Don't underestimate how much the mediums cation retention can effect the nutrient uptake of the plant.

Little Will- Here's some pictures of my last grow with hempys. you tell me if I had all the other parameters dialed in or not ;)

Maybe not the best grow ever, but I'm pretty sufficiently satisfied with my control over environmental variables.

i've used floranova bloom and GH 3 part with various additives with good results

thinking i might go back to the 3 part after this jug o floranova

Nice show. I agree all nutes are not created equal. Also I have ZERO experience with Hempy buckets , so do what you will with this. Id look into Canna or H&G, Tried MANY different nutes most chem based. They are clean tasting but IMOP take more then just their line to really optimize some aspect.(normalyl FLAVOR or buzz ) ( Except maybe AN cause they make 3 of everything.lol) Or something with worm poo.

Thank you sir! I appreciate the rep as well :)

Yep, I also feel like there's only so far that base nutrients can get you. It's been shown time and time again that things like humic and fulvic acids are beneficial to the root zone, so even that simple additive should increase yields.

How about this question for everyone;

Between these two nutrient profiles, which one do you expect to yield superior results?

Floranova Bloom
Koolbloom (liquid and powder)
Floranectar
Floralicious

OR

Advanced Nutrients Sensi A+B
Big Bud
Overdrive
Bud Candy

Both of those systems cost almost the same at my local store, so let's judge purely by finished product. Cost is not a factor (I mention this because that's by far the #1 con listed by anti-AN folks)

Nutrients work best at a certain ph depending on the medium, so choose your nutes and find out what they recommend for the medium your using. I've seen studies on nutes by independent growers and there's little difference in yield between them. With a couple more grow I'm sure you'll be doing over 2 lbs.

Hate to say between those two Id pick the An side even though it quite not fair...

I ve used a few of those. Custom feed would be...

Advanced Nutrients Sensi A+B
Big Bud
Overdrive
Floranectar

Still could use some....
Floralicious

F%ck it mostly those two bases no expense....

Advanced Nutrients Sensi A+B
Big Bud
Bloombastic
Floranectar
Hygrozyme

Maybe some others like H&G R.E., Some mid p/k boost, Um ever heard of drip clean.

Second note: Ive run alot of K.i.s.s. with none or one additive(s) always thought they did not compare on some level. Even basic companies make additives (maybe not like AN, but...) because they work.

After running all of those and MORE to really find out how much the little tweaking means. That is why I say go with the H&G it is 'dialed' , and I am dropping so many other tried and test stables (proven additives) in my line up that I can't rep it enough.

Any decent nute will make the plant yield....

Not a difference in Yield maybe, I think all other factors will be different though.

That is the key IMOP.

The h&g re is the best root nute out there even the owner of advanced says to get it
