yeah it should be safe as long as it doesn't sit for too long. Probably better than any water coming from your tap I would bet.

i am thinking the same. any other FLORIDA dwellers use collected rain water or perhaps measured the contents/contaminants?? i currently use my tap water & I have recently noticed such a drastic change in my doberman's appearance by switching him to bottled water only instead of tap water. i cannot afford to buy bottled water for my garden, so collecting rain water was my next best bet. personally, i never have used the tap water. i only drink gatorade/powerade.

i am thinking of buying a cheap DIY charcoal kit & make myself a brita filter of sorts for the tap water if the rain water was a bad idea.

thanks for the response darksith, much appreciated.

It sounds good...but, my only concern would be residue from bird crap mixed in. It has been proven that water collected off roofs for many years and ingested by humans has pointed towards the cause of brain cancer.

I know we can use guano in our grows...but isn't guano fossilized or something like that?

hmm, very good point. well, i could create a roof. i could assemble a V from sheetmetal & have the rain collected in some sort of cistern. this way, i could keep the 'roof' sanitary. fricken great point Lowman.
