Loaded or unloaded, is there a difference?

A guy coming to rob you doesn't give a shit if your a Med grower or commercial, the example was to show how having a gun at the grow saved his life.

Looks like the consensus is that loaded or unloaded, your still going to hang for it if you get busted.

What I am saying is that there is a serious legal difference. So if you don't have a silencer and a plan, your in a really big problem. Your not going to have a good time with justifying homicide or serious bodily injury (with a firearm specification), when the prosecutor finds out you were growing cannabis.

Even if you don't kill them, perhaps they tell the cops that they were injured trying to steal illegal drugs. That can be resonable cause to serach the property, and that is oddly if the neighbors didn't call the cops that night or even the ripper.

Your better off to have them wake up unconscious, in a hole just in time!

And what I am saying is that if someone is coming into your house with guns of their own and they have no problem with using them, then screw the legality of it, I want a gun of my own, I'd rather be in court for having it then in the graveyard for not having it is what it comes down to.

If I could be assured that all would be robbers will only carry knives and baseball bats then perhaps I would consider an alternative to guns.
When someone has you on the floor of your own house at gunpoint lets see how you feel about it.
Or worse, maybe your not moving fast enough for their liking and they take a shot at you, or a family member, are you going to tell them that if not for the legality of it you would have a gun and it would be their ass? That will help.

I guess looking at raid proof but still easily accessible hiding spots is the next step

i've wrestled with this question for a while, the answer was for me, no guns
not perfect, and think it's a case by case deal
so i'm improving my non lethal protections, panic room is what i have in mind
i'm in low crime area, so bust seems the bigger risk

I understand your position if at all possible instead of trying to find a way to be able to use your weapon, make sure your grow can be torn down in the course of 10-15 mins. max would be the option I would take. If it's a big grow maybe you could invest in some type of incinerator and just keep your seeds off property as mentioned.

I'm with you when it comes down to it I'm putting the person down like a wounded bear, I'll think about the consequences of prison later.

Kalicokitty, it seems a lot easier to be dead then spend a life or a very long time in prison with not much life after. It still seems easier, to avoid having someone know anything to come in and pull that stunt.

It's always nice to have a window as well, truth is you can take a gun from someone or at least disable that arm. I'd be more upset about the trigger going off and that getting attention, then flipping out about them breaking in or trying to hurt me. I'd deal with that well after sound issues are avoided.

A lot of people are to focused on the weapon, fighting for it's control. Instead of dealing with other vulnerable locations on the weapon holder and knowing their balance. Shooting a gun is a small part of knowing how to use it, so avoid situations where someone is going to have one.

I'd be open to keeping a silenced weapon behind some dry wall, so it's unlikely to be found in a shake down...yet I can punch through the wall to find my weapons! You can keep rifles nice and organized behind a wall and yep you can even silence a shot gun. Not sure how to design a sound suppressor for buck shot, but a slug does damage.

Anyone can make a silencer, just be sure to use subsonic ammunition or there is a whipping sound.

What are you going to do with a gun to someone breaking in, that isn't going to bring cops to your place? Unless you have a sound suppressor, your likely to not get away with it. Plus they leave remnants when you shoot them, hard to scrub.

Im sure others have covered this but...

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. I am not a victim nor will I ever be if I have anything to say about it. Are you willing to bet the intruder doesn't have a gun either?

Maybe some aren't concerned about "getting away with it" but rather getting away "alive".

Btw, whether loaded or unloaded is a state issue and likely won't matter. Some places have "enhancements" on sentences for being loaded up and well, it never helps your defense attorney when the gun was found loaded. Big no-no for trial there. My personal thoughts on loaded/unloaded aren't important.

When I wasn't growing I kept my Colt 45 1911 locked and loaded in the bed stand. I don't have kids.

Now that I grow I just have a tactical flashlight to shine right into an intruders eyes.

Once they are blinded and stunned it's fairly easy to put them to sleep.

If you aren't legal, having guns around the grow is just asking for it IMO. There are other, albeit not as reliable, means of protecting yourself.

OM your dreaming if you think your going to disable and disarm multipule armed attackers with some cheesy martial arts moves, maybe one on one once in a blue moon, but 99% of the time your going to get your ass shot full of holes trying some shit like that.
And for the flashlight, it's an idea spastic, but you and OM are assuming that you will get the drop on these guys first.
They are the ones coming in with guns drawn 100% expecting trouble and ready for it, it's not like your sneaking up on them, the reverse is true most times.
And spastic, aren't you disabled in some way? Sorry if it's not you I'm thinking of, but if you are and you do blind them with your flashlight, are you physically ready for hand to hand combat possibly to the death with someone?

Now OM about the hiding it in a wall, now your talking the same as me, how can we have them, but not have them found in the event of a raid, that is my question now.

And thank you to all who have posted, your input is most welcome

Thanks to a gun in my warehouse, I am alive & nothing got ripped off. you would be surprised how often no one calls the police when a firearm is discharged in a house.
I had my robbery attempt. nver let the cops in. I had an accidental discharge by a roomate in another house with a grow, and no POPO. a Friend caught 3 would be jackers in his video surv cams, grabbed a .460 and drilled a half inch hole through his solid core oak door as two people were on either side of the door. a .460 at 3am and no one called the cops. It's getting raided w guns and a grow, whether a legal grow or not, it's a mandatory 5 stretch. i.m.o not worth it.

My personal beliefs are that I don't believe, that! It's a lot more certain hell to have people stuck in my brain then me out of their world.

I don't assume anything, and honestly being at the top of stairs really disables a group. I did say that the window is an option, I think it's people with guns that think they have it all planed out. You'd be amazed how people confuse consious plans with actual subconscious hard wiring that is the reaction that unfolds.

I just think that the attitude promotes a lot more attack. I just dream about attacking the neighbor that is very hostile and yet to been dealt with.

Not everyone wants good bud over violence, sad part about this. Violence is hard to justify to a court, some people worry about others doing it again.

That is only if you are being charged in Federal Court...as all grows are Felonies to the Feds....
But unless you have a big grow, it is prolly not Feds coming at you...and under State Law, if your gun is legal, and your grow is legal...there is no crime--

OM I think your missing my point, the tone of all your posts is one of assumed survivial of an armed encounter with someone, and then dealing with the repercussions of it.
Don't worry, If your shot dead at your grow because you were unarmed and thought you could take them down with a ninja leap from the top of the stairs you won't have to deal with any repercussions, because your dead.

Watch "The first 48"
they have many shootouts between drug dealers, the survivor often times gets charged with felon in posession of a handgun, but the shooting goes down as justifiable homocide because they were defending themselves against another armed individual

I had cancer. That doesn't make you a physical invalid lol. I'm getting to where I can push iron around at a good pace again. Granted I have A LONG WAY to go before I'm back to peak condition.

It's called close quarter combat BTW. Several years of formal training makes me OK at it. I'm quite comfortable beating on people and getting beat on in a competitive manner.

He/They may kill me if they really want to, but I reckon I would give them a run for their money if my life depended on it or maybe they'll shoot my ass and that will be that.

PS. If you have people with guns in your house pointed at you ripping your grow, then chances are you were already being sloppy elsewhere and this is one of the potential consequences.

Or maybe they just got lucky and you not so much.

I'm striking them in the neck with a 4' Sweet Tooth stalk as thick as your arm and stronger than bamboo. No shooting necessary!

If that does'nt work the vicious attack dog will end their shit, if he isn't stoned. :joint:
