If a member give you 4 points of rep + trough the normal ''scale'' system, when he give you a green thumb you gain 1 point, because the ''thumbs system'' is setted on 1\4 of the other system.
If this user give you less of 4 points in the ''scale''system, when he give a green thumb you gain nothing,no points.
So...only users with a good experience and\or points leave you points with only the ''thumbs system''
Yeah, everyone can rate 5 posts per day and their rep strength is 1/4 the amount you can give when using therep icon. The amount of rep points you give out is based on how much rep you have & how long you have been registered

So the people I'm repping aren't even really gaining any rep until they get 4 thumbs up?
Incorrect. After someone give you 4 thumbs up you gain nothing...you start to earn points when someone has enough experience and reputation...at least 4 points for istance and you gain 1 point for every thumb. If that user usually gives 8 points reputation (trough ''old scale'' system) you gain 2 points every thumb etc...every 4 point of reputation,1 point every thumb.
1\4 means this.
The rep system is still the same as it was. There is just an added function to the forums now. What about it is annoying? It was definitely a little slow to catch on, but very helpful and very unhelpful posts are getting marked more often now.
