Old Stoners

Has this forum run it's course? Every day for the past year, "bump...if you're high..now" has been the lead story. Rarely can I find a new post in any other thread.

Have the old stoners finally lost their minds and will to lead through example, or are they just too high to remember?

SHAME!~

Trying to do my part but man, I've been here for over a year and this is only my 50th post.

Just not naturally gabby I guess.

Thanks for the input. There's not much else for me to do.

I know it's a pot dedicated site, but I get tired of seeing the "get high" threads that always seem to be on the forum list as last post. Can't we just assume people wake and back and are high right now with out the threads? And I wonder how many people got high just to post.

It's a cool site. I'm just bored. I'm in a position where I can work if I want, but right now I don't have to work. So, I have nothing to do, and it's still winter in the mountains where I want to be. I cleaned the garage, washed the car, installed my big speakers. I guess I can go play a free round of golf in the mud.

Take Care!

I pretty much agree with what you are saying.

But I've found that few people in my age bracket (60) are surfing the net. Very few of my friends and relatives use computers let alone browse forums. And the ones that may visit a forum are too shy to participate.

My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS80 that I bought in 1979. I love the things but considering all the pitfalls associated with using them (glitches, crashes, viruses, hardware malfunctions), I'm not surprised that many people in my age group find them too troublesome to bother with. Too bad because even with all the problems, computers have made my life a lot more interesting.

I agree with what y'all are saying...

I never touched a computer until '05. My ex-wife split and left a second hand windows 98 computer behind. I didn't have anything better to do...so...I taught myself how to use it.

Stumbled across a Dutch site that sold seeds and had a complete grow guide.

I was reborn... ...at 56....and joined ICMag while stoned and listening to The Who

Which forum am I in??? I guess at our age we have other interest also. Can't remember what they are but there seems to be more to life than just getting a buzz. Just my opinion. But I've noticed the other thing too

I like this forum but it has been a bit slow lately. Maybe it´s the winter that dampens peoples creativity?

I love seeing pics from the "old days" and remembering concerts etc.

Maybe we should start an old stoner lifestyle thread?

I agree. I rarely visit this forum any more because the "bump if you're high" thread is the only one getting any action. Guess we're old and don't have much else to brag about.

Excuse me, now I have to go yell at those darn kids to get off my lawn.

I guess I started posting here again 'cuz I fit the age range. I used to talk about these things with my kids, who've been adults for years now, but they're off to other ends of the country and I am new in my neighborhood with really old farts. Never really discussed the growing with my friends, but it was all nudge-nudge-wink-wink since I always had the best pot to share. When asked if I grew it, I'd say, "Of course not". They were good enough friends that they never pressed the issue.

But now that all the baby boomers are finally talking about it, maybe we'll get some more new perspectives here.

:wave:I try to do my part. What do old stoners have to do all day or talk about. I have an old lady and we, have as you might imagine at 60, have medical appts. almost every week somewhere or another, that kinda keeps me busy. Then theres the farm, I always have a grow going, small but potent. Always trying new edible recipes, and I've just begun making green dragon on a regular basis, got a new batch working now, getting it ready for 420. So, I keep busy, but papa taught me not to talk out of school. I still don't trust computers I guess, cuz I know once the information is out there, it's out there forever. Good or bad.
And let's not forget most of these people are kids really, half the time I don't quite know what their talking about, the other half is catch as catch can.
But I still kinda like the old stoners thread, good to know it's there, and so are we! My 2 cents.

Peace.

All the old stoners are "out there" mingling among the younger folk,
learning new tricks & having a ball. :dance013:

Mingling yes....another forum that I frequent is mostly college 'kids'. They call me 'gramps'.
No matter how much I try to keep up with the younger folk, they still come up with something I haven't heard before. I think that's a good thing.

Perfectly put! Me and the old lady going to the Swanee Festival in Florida in April. Widespread Panic, Allman Brothers, Stephen Stills. Old folks, young folks, three days of understanding, grooving with one another, even the cops grooved with us...do you believe me yeah! Down in Monterrey...down in Monterrey...

Sorry...stole a lyric.

Yes, I agree, that is a good thing. But, I think we come up with a thing or two ourselves, from their perspective. I recall getting some weed with seeds (a rarity nowadays), and putting it in a shoebox lid, and cleaning it with an expired credit card. My son, 20 or 21 at the time, thought that was a stroke of genius! Now, haven't we all done that a time or 2 dozen back in the day?

Or a folding record album. Sprinkle pot in the crease and watch those seeds slide down the groove! Sitting in a smoking circle watching some groovy chick work her magic fingers over a pile of seedy buds. Twists some up and does that lick the paper thing while simultaneously looking you in the eye. Gotta ask her if she wants a shotgun. Hope her old man's not around!
