maine patients just grow your own. whoever the 8 people are who get those license will become millionaires. just hope the govt at leasts test your weed for pesticides. so many retard growers saving their crop at the last minute with neurotoxins. just check the growboards if you don't believe me.

grow your own and save money.

Well its a start. I don't think its a patient friendly policy when they don't have easy access to medicine, but you will have dispensaries in your state and thats something...

just read the article on NORMLs site.

You have 3 options with this. You must get a a Dept of Health Card and register with the state.

Then you can either 1. Grow your own
2. Designate a caregiver to grow for you
3. Use one of the 8 dispensaries.

You CANNOT do all 3. If your crop fails you have to apply to transfer your Card/Rec over to a caregiver or a Dispensary.

The worst part about it is wether you choose 1, 2, or 3, you have 24 notice of inspection by the State.

Have fun with that Mainers.

even tho its not on par with cali i would still be thankful to be able to grow my 5 plants at home legally, you can get more than enough personal smoke off of five plants. I think that mainers should be happy they have any medical at all as for the rest of east coasters we are all foreced to break the law or do without

yes but you will be inspected at your house. not so cool. the FDA and DEA don't pop in to check your prescription meds either. i'm sure it will get challenged in court. the lawyers need money too.

Don't get your panties in a wad over government regulations.
A few years ago the only regulation was go straight to jail.
As for price gouging and monopolies their will always be growers and the guy down the street with a few ounces for sale. Every couple of years theirs a little get together called elections. Vote in them and you will find change.

This growing trend towards eliminating small store fronts and replacing them with weed walmart`s baffles me. I dont see it providing any relief for those people who are mad as hell about seeing them.

To everybody from Maine-

Fight this bullshit. It is your state. But nobody is going to draft these bills for us. Form associations. Pool your money.

It is what everyone else does. It brings us to a similar level of legal and political clout.

Montana has less than 1 million people, and more than 10000 patients. 8 Dispensaries in the state would be just that, 8 weed walmarts.

Also, nobody is willing to pay that ridiculous Nike price here so it has never became an issue. Simple as that.
Anyways, my 2 cents as a registered patient and caregiver.

Maine still has the Caregiver side they just need to stay away from the dispensaries I'm sure that only two or three companies are going to control these eight. Maybe a failing potato or dairy farm but there are groups out there already establishing caregiver "collectives" (sunrisecaregivers.org) and most of the 1000 patients have a caregiver or are growing. Maines politicians are shadey and the people know that so hopefully they don't give in to this shadey business practice. Stay with your caregiver but better yet grow your own sunrise also is already trying to push would be and established patients to grow their own. Helping people at no cost I think go Maine Citizens just dont trust those bastards in Augusta.

Johnny....LOL..geez man.Maybe we should just all slit our wrists and get it over with.No wait we can move to Cali and increase the unemployment rate to 15%..
Honestly, I don't want Maine to turn into another Cali. It's beginning to create a lot of bad publicity making it harder for other states to get voter approval.A happy medium would be nice:artist:

At this point the law is still kinda evolving...I got my permission slip yesterday...The doctor said the state was having issues on how some dr's were scripting out thier patients ie; not checking records or not being under the care of a dr...Some are trying to get as many patients on the books as quick as possible.A political numbers game..My doc said until the state tells him other wise he will still write the permission slip if he feels its in the best interest of his patients...He did say in the past year he has only given out under 10 slips including me.....As far as i know i DO NOT have to register with any state agency. My slip says im allowed by law to cultivate, posess and consume what state law allows....just oversite by my primary care dr like all my meds.Last point,I believe if your growing for 2 or less there will be no INSPECTIONS by DHHS ever....leave mom and pop alone.....easy peasy.

Lots of "kick back money" by having only 8 dispensaries. No competition so prices can go as high as they want. It may be a start,i hope they amend later on to add for more but it looks like there starting off on the wrong foot, depending on which side of the fence your on.
This could be good for CG's. If the prices go sky high I think that folks are going to be depending on CG's so they can afford. Prices can only go so high before people stop buying from dispensaries and start looking for a caregiver.
what do ya think?

With only 8 dispensaries for the entire state,it is going to be a CGs market. Nobody is goign to want to drive 3 hrs each way because they live out in the boonies when they can have a CG make it happen just down the road.

I do believe that there will be more disensaries down the road but, Maine is taking it slow as to not turn it into a huge mess... Cali style. As hihly regulated as this state is, I am suprised that we have been able to come this far withe the movement.

Slow and easy and we'll get there. Rush it and a few folks can mess it all up, as with anything in life.

Much Like New Mexico. When you control the supply you create a monopoly on the market. The "approved" vendors win. Usually greasing the palms of the local lawmakers. While the medical patients have to deal with overpriced and sub-par medicine.

^^
If your new to the sceen and follow all the rules i can see a patient getting taken advantage of by over price profiteer's, and the the state o maine looking for new tax's....The patients who keep and execise their right to provide medical M.J for themselfs will be fine......
Im sure one could still find reasonably priced meds on the underground market if the legal dispensarys start acting like a monopoly...I for one will not take on a sheep mentality
off for the nite E.C
