just read the article on NORMLs site.
You have 3 options with this. You must get a a Dept of Health Card and register with the state.
Then you can either 1. Grow your own
2. Designate a caregiver to grow for you
3. Use one of the 8 dispensaries.
You CANNOT do all 3. If your crop fails you have to apply to transfer your Card/Rec over to a caregiver or a Dispensary.
The worst part about it is wether you choose 1, 2, or 3, you have 24 notice of inspection by the State.
Have fun with that Mainers.
At this point the law is still kinda evolving...I got my permission slip yesterday...The doctor said the state was having issues on how some dr's were scripting out thier patients ie; not checking records or not being under the care of a dr...Some are trying to get as many patients on the books as quick as possible.A political numbers game..My doc said until the state tells him other wise he will still write the permission slip if he feels its in the best interest of his patients...He did say in the past year he has only given out under 10 slips including me.....As far as i know i DO NOT have to register with any state agency. My slip says im allowed by law to cultivate, posess and consume what state law allows....just oversite by my primary care dr like all my meds.Last point,I believe if your growing for 2 or less there will be no INSPECTIONS by DHHS ever....leave mom and pop alone.....easy peasy.just read the article on NORMLs site.

This could be good for CG's. If the prices go sky high I think that folks are going to be depending on CG's so they can afford. Prices can only go so high before people stop buying from dispensaries and start looking for a caregiver.Lots of "kick back money" by having only 8 dispensaries. No competition so prices can go as high as they want. It may be a start,i hope they amend later on to add for more but it looks like there starting off on the wrong foot, depending on which side of the fence your on.
